    Description

Permaculture small farm on 1 acre [0.4Ha]. Strawbale house and converted stables. Ian and I are 50-something years old with adult children who live nearby. We are sharing with a permanent tenant. We eat from our garden and other local food every day. Lots of birds and kangaroos. We are in an emerging eco-neighbourhood on the edge of the vibrant town of Castlemaine, and 5km from train station with easy access to Melbourne. Lots of great walks and cycle rides. Great network of earthy people in the area.

  • Help

    Help

Help us with harvesting - and eating - fruit and vegetables this autumn. Daily routine of feeding chickens , harvesting produce and preparing gardens for winter crops. We are experienced and happy to train you as long as you are willing to get your hands dirty. You can learn to preserve foods and make fermented foods such as kefir, sauerkraut and kombucha. You would also work with us to help our neighbours in their gardens as well. Firewood collecting and compost making occasionally. Pruning and caring for fruit trees. Mulching.
