    Description

Our hostel is located in the heart of the German Colony, an historic neighborhood

in Haifa, northern Israel – right down the street from the Bahai Gardens and a five-
minute walk from the lively downtown.

We are a small business, owned by two brothers and operating since 2014.
The hostel is housed in a building from the Ottoman period and we have
preserved its elegant features and character. We offer both dorm rooms and
    private bedrooms to our guests.
In addition to catering to tourists, we also operate a restaurant that serves local
(and very tasty) dishes such as Hummus, Shawarma, and Fatteh - all of which are
prepared on site with our special recipes. These serve to create a culinary
    experience for our workawayers.
We also host events for locals and tourists, including parties, jam sessions, and
    networking get-togethers.
We have hosted Workawayers since opening. Our Workawayers are an integral part of
the hostel team and create an amazing atmosphere.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Haifa is known for being a unique home for numerous cultures and religions, all
    coexisting side-by-side.
Workawayers here will have the opportunity to experience local cultures, through
their interactions with the local members of the team and through our events and
parties, which emphasize Arabic music and bring many people from around Haifa
    and the North.
Language practice opportunities (Arabic and Hebrew) are plentiful as well.
We also offer our volunteers free stays at other hostels around the country.

    Help

Workawayers take part in all aspects of running the hostel- welcoming guests and
answering questions, housekeeping and cleaning rooms and common areas, and
    taking care of the garden.

We welcome and encourage Workawayers to share their special talents and skills
with us. If you have ideas for ways to put your talents to use, please share with us!
The sky is the limit, and our hostel has greatly benefited from volunteer projects in
the past. Artistic Workawayers are especially welcome, but all skills can go a long a
    way.
Opportunities may also be available to help out in the restaurant and during

  • What else ...

    What else ...

Haifa is a great city to visit and to live in. The German Colony neighborhood has
many great restaurants, a stone’s throw from the hostel. The nearby Wadi Nisnas
neighborhood offers local eateries and shops, and downtown Haifa showcases
amazing bars and restaurants with all types of cuisine. The food scene in Haifa is,
in our opinion, the best in the country.
The magnificent Bahai Gardens are just up the street from the hostel, and the
beach is just a 20 minute walk or a short bus ride away.
Exploring Haifa is a great way to spend your time off, and we are happy to provide
    recommendations.
