Myself (Eric) and my partner Joan have been involved with horses all our life. We love doing things outside such as hiking, rock climbing, scuba diving, etc. We travel frequently to explore new destinations even if it is just down the road. If you like riding horses a lot, this is the place for you.
We love meeting and hosting people from all over the World and travel ourselves every chance we can to discover new destinations and cultures. While here we will help you with your equestrian skills. We will help you explore the Memphis area and share with you some of our favorite places. You will be off 3 days a week and will be given the opportunity to explore other cities like Nashville and New Orleans. On our ranch where you will stay there is a beautiful lake full of fish that you can fish and paddle board on. Hiking and biking opportunities are abundant in the area. Of course you will also get to do a lot of horse riding.
We would like our applicants to be confident and skilled horse equestrians. It doesn't matter if your background is in English riding or Western. You will be required to help out 4 days a week. Help consist of feeding, grooming, tacking and riding our horses at our home (not at our business).
Our home is a 30 minute drive South of Memphis in Hernando, MIssissippi. We have 2 private guests rooms with queen beds and one bedroom with bunk beds. All rooms have television with Netflix and Hulu. Food will be provided by us but we ask that you help with meal preparation and clean up. There is no smoking allowed indoors.
Memphis is known as an international tourist destination mainly because of its rich music history and culture. You will be able to spend your free time exploring and discovering Memphis and the Mid South region. We will be happy to shuttle you around the area as needed.
