Description
The Square Garden.
We are a family with two young boys. We are living in the middle of a small Irish village in North Cork with mountains, woods and rivers close by. Cork City is half an hour away. Fermoy a bigger town is 5 minutes drive. There is plenty to discover in this area either culturally or naturally.
We are a couple both passionate about growing. My partner is a landscape architect and I work as an organic gardener. We bought a big project of a house 2 years ago that has a walled garden. In the walled garden I am developing an organic cut flower farm. We also grow a lot of our own food. It is in the garden where I would love the help. No experience needed, just enthusiasm :-)! We will also be developing a natural swimming pond this spring. We always have interesting projects on the go.Types of help and learning opportunities

We love travelling ourselves and will be able to let you know lots of good spots to visit and camp in Ireland. We have camping gear to lend. In the near area there is loads to explore as well and will be more than happy to guide you around. We have bikes and a large canoe available. We live in the middle of a a small village. If you step outside our front door you are in the village and if you go out the back you are in the country side. I am dutch myself living in Ireland the last 10 years. My partner is from this area.
No gardening experience is needed. Totally happy to pass on the skills.Projects involving children

Help
We are looking for anyone that is up for mainly outdoor tasks in the garden. Chores will depend very much on the season. I am setting up a cut flower farm. Spring is a lot of prep work; sowing seeds, prepping beds, making supports. Summer time will be a lot of harvesting and if you are interested flower arranging. We will have other projects on the side; growing vegetables, fruit and herbs. Making a natural swimming pond. In the autumn we will have more harvesting and also apple pressing and cider making.

We are in the process of buying a self containing caravan. In the meantime we have a spare bedroom in our house. We will provide a budget for food and are happy to share some meals as well.
What else ...
We are living in the middle of a small Irish village in North Cork with mountains, woods and rivers close by. Kilworth has 4 pubs, a cafe with shop, arts centre and 1 grocery shop. Cork City is half an hour away. Fermoy a bigger town is 5 minutes drive. There is plenty to discover in this area either culturally or naturally. A car is handy to do trips, but locally a bike is ok. And public transport from Fermoy is possible.. We will help out if we can. Bikes are available.
Happy to have people or a couple around, but expect some independence as well. Someone that is happy to go explore the area/country.A little more information
