  Animal sitting near Elche, Alicante, Spain - 1 week in June 2024 - (approx 19 June - 26 June 2024)
  
  Hi there. Firstly, a little bit about us...... We are Sharon and Jason; a couple in our early fifties who are on our third renovation project in Spain. We did Workaway ourselves whilst travelling in a motorhome throughout Europe for 9 months about 11 years ago, and also hosted Workawayers during both renovation projects.
  
  Obviously you would have to understand that as this is a renovation project that things are definitely not perfect! The house is nice and comfortable but changes are going to made inside. The bathroom has been renovated and there is also a newly built pool ready for use too.......
  
  We are hoping to both attend my dad´s 90th birthday in the UK. We need animal sitters (either a couple or an independent self sufficient person) to look after our animals - 3 dogs (one elderly), 1 cat and 4 chickens. We ask that you arrive a few days early to get to know the animals and find out their routine. We may arrive back very late on our return so you are more than welcome to stay a day or so later after we have returned should you wish to.
  
  We may ask that you do a couple of odd jobs and tasks in our absence, but as you can see this is more of an animal sitting assignment (watering the garden, that kind of thing).
  
  It would be best if you have your own transport as we are fairly isolated and there is no public transport to speak of. The little village of La Hoya is a 10 minute walk away and a locally renowned restaurant is only a 5 minute walk away but it is only open in the day time. The outskirts of Elche are a 5 minute drive away, La Marina beach 15 minutes away, and other little surrounding towns just a little further than that. Unfortunately we cannot accept anyone who has their own animals as our cat would not be happy!
  
  We may be able to loan you our left hand drive manual car if you have a clean driving licence, are over the age of 25 and are happy to drive at night (we would need lifts to and from the airport).
  
  You would have your own bedroom and there's a good wifi connection. If you want excitement this may not be the place for you, but if you want to explore in the day time and then relax in the evening in front of an open fire or put on layers of clothes and sit on the terrace to look at the stars then this may be the place for you.

  I have a small office that can be used, but the wifi throughout the house and on the terrace is pretty good.
