Description
Over 23 years ago hitch hiking through the Yucatan Peninsula with our oldest son we encountered this piece of paradise. Veni, Vidi, Vici.
We are situated "off the grid" on the Costa Maya beach, 5 km south of Mahahual town, Quintana Roo, Mexico.
The Costa Maya is still a very natural environment with the 2nd largest barrier reef in front and a huge area of mangrove and wet lands behind. Divers paradise!
With the two of us we run a small cozy restaurant, open in the evenings where our international guests
come and enjoy a freshly prepared meal and good company.
Further more we have 2 rental units in our flower-full garden.
Our place runs fully on solar and wind power plus we catch our own rainwater.

Are you interested in mainly doing cleaning chores, some DIY projects and want to stay for at least 2 weeks on the Mexican Caribbean beach – This might be it.
Your thing to do will be maintenance or cleaning projects
further raking the yard/beach and whatever surprise we encounter that day.
We provide accommodation and (2 non vegan) meals on volunteering days.
Seekers of a free holiday we have nothing for you.
Seekers of a rewarding experience and the satisfaction of a job well done we look forward to hearing from you.

You will stay in a 27 ft/8 meter very well maintained trailer 20 meters off the beach.
Equipped with kitchen, WiFi, lounging area and a big bed. (no smoking inside and no overnight visitors!)
Should sleep 6 but we feel 1 or max 2 (who know each other) will be comfortable.

In your free time you might want to go for a snorkel, dive or kayak just of our beach?
Birdwatching. Enjoy stargazing in a non light polluted sky.

They did a wonderful job, put in loads of energy and got a lot of things done.
They won't wait for you to ask, but will find things to do themselves.
We had entertaining conversations at lunch.
They left the place spic and span.
I highly recommend them.
Come back anytime.
We ended up making a funky bodega (tool shed) using all scrap material.
Marcel did a great job and was fun to work with and have conversations with after work.
