My name is Raad and I am part of a large Bedouin family. I have my own camp in the beautiful desert of Wadi Rum. In addition, the oldest rounds of jeeps and camels. Some relatives help me in my work, for example by taking tours, but generally accompanying tourists during their stay. So there is so much to do! I need people with experience to help me improve the website and promote the camp for bookings
Helping with Tourists
Help with Computers / internet
You will be treated like a part of my family and so you can get a good impression of the Bedouin lifestyle. The Bedouin hospitality always provides you a glass of tea and a pleasant conversation, whereever your spend your time. There are lots of children in my family, which are eager to teach you some words in Arabic. And as you join the tourists on their tours and stay in the camp, you can communicate with people from all over the world. You can explore Wadi Rum, enjoy those fantastic local sights and learn from the guide all about history and way of life in this area.
As a Bedouin I learned to speak English from the tourists. It`s enough for a normal conversation, but not to read and write properly, as I would like to. I would be grateful to find volunteers who can help me to improve my English and to expand my business' online presence to attract new visitors.
Arabic and English
Volunteers will stay in our family house in the village of Wadi Rum. In the tradionally equipped receiving room, where we bid our guests welcome, you will have your maddress and everything you need. In times we spend in the desert camp you will get your own Bedouin tent with a bed. 3 meals per day will be offered.
Volunteers can join my jeep and camel tours for free. Also possible is hiking or just strolling arround in the village. We have a dog, two cats, goats and camels, if you like animals. Trips to Aqaba or Petra are possible, public buses leave the village daily.
