    Description

    Hey all and welcome!

My name is Manthos and I live in the small UNESCO village of Vuno, Albania. Here I have a small, cozy, UNESCO protected hostel/camping ground. there are two little shops, one restaurant, and lots of nature and olive trees. It is the perfect place to come and get away from the big cities and just enjoy people company and relax.

the hostel has 3 dorms (former school rooms) each with 8 beds and a space for people to set up tents to camp. We have to outdoor showers and three small bathrooms. We live a rustic life out in the country and love to meet people from all over the world!

Vuno is a quiet place not far from the sea but out of the touristic area. our busy season is usually July and August but we just go with the flow around here! At our place you can explore the south Albanian village life, as the donkeys, goats, and sheep go passing by. We are laid back and take trips to the beaches and hang out at night with the guests.

U will learn a lot about the South of Albania, about the nature, animals and the people and how a village community functions. You’re also gonna see more of the benefits and the difficulties about the tourism in Albania.

But most importantly you'll be supporting a locally run place that cares about the vibes and people! Not the Money! I was raised in this town and love to share it with people. I want to show the world this simple life and invite you to come!

    Help

We need help with the day to day life at a hostel/camp ground. The work is not to demanding, but can pick up during the on season, but don't worry, you will have plenty of time to explore the beauty the Albania has to offer you!

Cleaning the dorms and shower/toilet areas, Making the beds, and making sure people are checked in is the usually work we have, and does not take too much time since we are nothing to fancy.

We have plenty of project that can be done though! We are always looking for people with building skills and motivation to help grow our space. Due to the site being a UNESCO site we can not do major renovations, but we:

    - Fix some paddle boards!
    - Fixing up our hangout spots and building new ones!
    - Build storage space and shelves!
    - Gardening!
    - anything you ca think of!

You are welcome to bring your creativity and ideas.

But in the end we are a simple place, it's like daily homework to do, to keep the place in a nice atmosphere where everybody feels welcome. I grow up in this village

You would get a bed in our shared mix dorms. If you prefer to camp, you can bring your own tent and we would provide you with a mattress, blankets and pillows. we have two shower heated by the power of the sun. and three little bathrooms. its nothing fancy but its perfect if you like the country old style life.

we also provide food at least 2 times a day (we usually make breakfast and dinner and have food around for lunch so don't worry you wont go hungry!) and do trips to the town next to us for bigger shopping trips.

    What else ...

We have good bus connection to other cities along the coast all the way up to the north and capital city. There a few options throughout the day in either direction, but the easiest way to get from a to b is by hitchhiking.

Many amazing beaches around, caves, hiking, and a lot more! we do trips sometimes and have beach parties!
