Hello! We're a regenerative smallholding family farm - Alex and Emily and our three boys aged 18mths, 3 yrs and 6yrs - We are 1 hour's train or drive from Melbourne CBD. We farm free-ranging chickens for eggs and meat chickens, warré hives for raw honey and beeswax, organic vegetables for preserves and condiments and gluten free bread for sale at local farmers' markets. We're passionate about ethical animal husbandry, holistic land management, traditional crafts and homesteading, building community and having fun.
Help with Eco project
We're looking for a volunteer or a couple (who can share a room) who are willing to help on our farm in a variety of tasks which may include include animal care, gardening, farming, woodwork and building, baking and preserving, farmers markets assistance.
We are looking for volunteers willing to stay 2-4 weeks at a time.
This may be offset by part of the cost of the accommodation offered depending on local labour laws.
You will gain experience into organic farming practices such as vegetable gardening, beekeeping and chickens. You may also learn how to make gluten free baking and bread, traditional soap making. You will get the experience of living with a young family in rural Australia.

Comfortable room with queen futon bed. Shared toilet and shower. Shared healthy home-cooked meals (mix of vegetables + meat) and snacks. We can cater for your dietary needs, all meals are gluten-free as Emily is coeliac.
We're situated in the beautiful Macedon Ranges - only an hour from Melbourne city or Bendigo city. Closest towns have plenty of cafes, fine eateries, farmers markets, historic sites, parks and facilities, train station and bus services.
