    Description

We are an intercultural organisation in Drogheda (North East of Ireland), dedicated to promoting interaction, understanding and dialogue between new communities from different ethnic, cultural and faith backgrounds and the host community. Our centre provides advice and support on rights and entitlements in different languages to support new communities with language difficulty to enable them cope with issues that affect their lives.

We are currently looking for volunteers with skills in Drama, Arts & Crafts, Digital Photography, Computer Coding, Cookery, Makeup Artist..... to support in our Multi-activity Camp in July and early August.
The intercultural summer programmes engage children for four to five weeks during the summer. During this period, children learn about the history and culture of diverse cultures. Activities provided are arts and crafts, dance, sport, music, health and fitness... Classes are divided into groups of 5-12 and 13-17 years. Our camp ensures that the summer holiday for participants turns into a great and unforgettable experience.

Summer Camp participants may be referred by Individuals, schools, community groups, Statutory agencies and Service Providers; we welcome volunteers who would be happy to assist during the period.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

As we provide linguistic and cultural solutions, participants who may like to improve their communication skills will participate in our conversational English language classes, they will also have the opportunity to participate in our intercultural monthly 'Culture Share', learn about Irish culture, meet and chat with the diverse cultures represented in the organisation and the community.

The ideas and experiences that volunteers will benefit from our organisation, will no doubt help to increase their understanding on cultural diversity as well as help to foster openness to differences.
