We are a couple just starting out with a 2 acres of organic garden. Using Natural building, Permaculture and local farming knowledge we aim to make our home and grow our food. We would like to be as self-sufficent as possible, working with nature and enjoying life.
So far we have planted over 50 fruit trees, built a house, a tool shed, toilet, shower, pumphouse and chicken house. Now we are working on developing our garden, building a workshop, compost toilet, a cob oven, guest house, sala for yoga / muay Thai and growing veggies.
We have many friends come to help out, and so far all our volunteers have come via word of mouth. We prefer visits of at least a week, but please ask if you have fewer days available.
We especially welcome anyone with the following skills:
Entretien / Bricolage
Aide à la ferme
There are many projects you can help with, depending on the time of year. Ongoing maintenance of the garden and buildings and other example activities are; natural building with adobe and cob, making fences, furniture and small buildings with bamboo, gardening, growing vegetables, planting fruit trees, laying brick mosaic paths, looking after the chickens, making jam, pickles and more!
We are learning wood working skills, and would love to know how to wire a lamp...
We have two tents available for volunteers, until we build another adobe house!
We provide vegetarian meals and take turns to help cook and clean up. We also have great local restaurants nearby and local food markets.
Please be aware we are located 20 km south of the city in a Thai village. Please buy any toiletries etc you need in the city as Thai corner shops probably won't have your favourite brand! Remember to bring suncream, a water bottle, hat and insect repellent.
We eat together and then have time to relax in the evenings.
We have a bicycle you can borrow if you want to explore a little.
To get to us it's easy to get a bus from the city towards Hang Dong, or a taxi from the airport.
Nearby us is: 'grand canyon' which is a waterpark / obstacle course, ob Khan national park for relaxing in nature, Hang dong town centre, and then it's 25 minutes by bus to everything the city has to offer.

You can learn bamboo skills, gardening in a tropical climate, soil improvement methods, and building with adobe, cob, lime and clay plasters. Cooking vegetarian food and a bit about Thai culture. With us you can see how it is to live in a real Thai village.
Chiang Mai is a city of culture, and a great place to explore. We know the city inside out and will show you around town on one day off each week. We also go swimming in the nearby national park creek and visit the local evening market for tasty Thai treats.
We are also close to the mountains, so there are lots of green places to discover too. There are many trips you can take, trekking, waterfalls, elephants, temples, rafting, too many to mention...
