Hi everybody, I'm Daniele, an easy going, open minded, free spirited guy of 1968 from Catania, Sicily :)
In 1990 I started my own production of mediterranean plants and potted ones.
In the same year, State Railway of Italy granted me a railway line section which also included an old train station and a 1000 square meter tunnel made by lava stone where I started a seasonal production of mushrooms.
It's been more than 34 years already, and the old train line has become a beautiful green road of Mediterranean essences that has spread troughout the entire property, which includes a vast vivarium of Aloe Vera (I also produce gel for therapeutic treatments, and soaps from them).
Inside my Oasis there is no shortage of hammocks and caravans sheltered from the sun by thick vegetation.
From a couple of years I'm interested to the cultivation of my own vegetable garden.
I love cooking and I organize cooking classes.
I've just refurbished the old train station which became a small house.
I love travelling around the world whenever I get the chance to do so.
I'm just asking for help in my home and in my private gardens and that the Workawayers won't help any product for sale to the public.

In here you will find peace of mind. You can learn about cultivation of plants and how to maintain them, how to make aloe vera gel and what it can be used for. You can learn italian and learn from other volunteers. As I said before I also do cooking classes with a variety of local food and spices. but it is not just about what you can learn from me but also what I can learn from you too :)

In exchange for this help I offer you a stay in a room (when available) or in a camping area in my garden - in a tipi tent or in a tent you'd bring with you. There is an outdoor bathroom. You would also be given food for lunch and dinner.

I live in one of the most beautiful areas of Sicily and you don't need to stroll far to find stunning views and beautiful walks. Aci Castello (where I live) and Aci Trezza are two beautiful towns by the sea, one next to each other, plenty of bars and restaurants. 15 mins away by bus and you can get to the main city, Catania, full of history and traditions. the city night life it is also pretty amazing.

An amazing and very authentic Italian experience that we'll never forget. Great location next to the sea and a beautiful garden. I was at Daniels place for two weeks. He has an amazing huge garden with many exotic plants. I worked in the garden and also painted a lot. He is a very kind, open and easy going person and he is a great cook. Thank you for everything!

Esperienza ideale ad Aci Castello con Daniele. Dopo un'esperienza difficile a Militello, questa è stata un'oasi in confronto. Passare il tempo qui, lavorando in rilassatezza, è stato un piacere. Staying with Daniele was so great! His property is beautiful and there are so many fun projects do to if you have some ideas. Nature is everything here so it suits people who love plants and animals. I really enjoy to be here, the work is easy and diversified and then you have time to visit around in this beautiful countryland or just chill in his wonderful property.

Really good place. I had a great time in sicily. The view from the fungaia is very beautiful. The place is nice. Daniel is a traveller and has a lot of funny stories to tell. If you have time to spend in Sicily definitly go there.
