    Hey!

My name is Linda, I'm 20 years old. I'm currently studying at the University of Seville a Degree in East Asian Studies. On the 2nd of December, I have the JLPT N2 exam, so I thought it'd be really nice to host a Japanese person in order to improve my language skills.

I started studying it in 2015, and later in 2016 I went to Japan and stayed in Hiroshima for three months. I spend most of the time learning new vocabulary, but I tend to have problems when it comes to remembering words I don't usually use. My long-term goal is to become a Japanese - English/Spanish interpreter.

Anyway, apart from me there are two other persons (my mother and my twin sister; they don't speak any English, so unless you know some Spanish it'll be really difficult for y'all to understand each other) and two cats (they speak Cat) in the house. My mother works and studies simultaneously, so most of the time (mon-fri) she's away from home, and when she's here, she's revising for her exams. My sister has a part-time job and she's usually hanging out with her friends. As for me, I prefer studying at the library, which means that the house is usually empty.

Since what I need the most from you are mainly conversations, I need to know more about you beforehand.

I'm also organizing a weekly (Spanish/English - Japanese) language exchange, so I guarantee you'll be able to make many Japanese friends in Seville too if you come.

Seville is, according to Lonely Planet, the best city to visit in 2018:
'Some cities blast you away, others slowly win you over. Seville disarms and seduces you. Its historic centre, lorded over by a colossal Gothic cathedral, is an intoxicating mix of resplendent Mudéjar palaces, baroque churches and winding medieval lanes. Flamenco clubs keep the intimacy and intensity of this centuries-old tradition alive whilst aristocratic mansions recall the city’s past as a showcase Moorish capital and, later, a 16th-century metropolis rich on the back of New World trade. But while history reverberates all around, Seville is as much about the here and now as the past. It’s about eating tapas in a crowded bar or seeing out the end of the day over a drink on a buzzing plaza. The sevillanos have long since mastered the art of celebrating and the city’s great annual festivals, notably the Semana Santa and Feria de Abril, are among Spain’s most heartfelt.'
Besides, I can teach you Spanish or try to introduce you to the other languages I study.

Since our apartment is rather small, there's not much to do, so I would say that basically you'd be requested to clean after yourself and maybe clean the house with us a bit when we decide to do so (mainly on Saturdays), talk to me in Japanese whenever we're together, help me translate literature or essays if you're fluent in English or Spanish and maybe correct the texts I write.

Apart from that, if you play any instrument, you could try and help me with my musical project. I really like singing and would love to participate in a Japanese synth pop/jazz band, inspired by artists like Miharu Koshi, Keiko Kimura, Kojima Mayumi, Meiko Kaji and Hako Yamasaki, but that's completely optional and just for fun if you fancy the idea.

I have 10 months experience in total as a WorkAwayer and I want to make it as easy as possible for other people, so you can of course make your own plans and leave and enter the house as you please.

Ideally, you'd be sharing the room with me, since I have two beds here, but in case you need more privacy, I could try to sleep somewhere else. There are plenty of books in Japanese (thanks to the holy BookOff!), so you can also read as many as you want while you're here. There's also a computer, which you can use freely.

I live in a neighbourhood ~30 minutes away (by bus) from the city center. Each bus ticket costs 1,40€, but you can also buy a travel card which will make going and coming much cheaper (0,60€ each way). In my neighborhood there are plenty of services (library, supermarkets, clothing shops, bars,..), so you won't have a problem if you need to print a document somewhere near, for example.

The main downside: Food wouldn't be included. I'm really sorry!
