    Description

    We're a team of positive people who loves nature and living by the ocean. Our project is to restore a very let-down property to make it a paradise again to escape from the busy world and live Tranquilo.

    This is a great place if you want to get away from everything and be one with nature. It is a place where it is very easy to break down bad habits like smoking, drinking, spending too much time on your phone, etc. (Note: If you are looking for nightlife and partying, you will not like this place - we are remote and there are no nightlife at all around here)

    It's really a cure from the modern and busy world.

    We're located in the wild, off the beaten path southern zone of Costa Rica. There is no wifi at the camp so you can really enjoy the present moment, become immersed in the natural paradise around you.

    The property receives green parrots, iguanas, scarlet macaws, monkeys. There is a yoga platform in front of the sea and a river to swim a few minutes from the property.

    If you've ever dreamed about living / working on the beach for a couple of weeks surrounded by amazing nature, send us a message!

    Help

    Hello to all of you dreamers, travelers and free spirits! We have a big project with constant maintenance and many things to do so please understand that we can only accommodate autonomous people with some prior work experience...

    We need help with a whole array of projects but the most important thing is to be motivated.

    Please tell us what you don’t like doing and where your skills are and what gets you fired up, in this way we can look for a job that works for you and where you are happy and get the feeling you are developing yourself...

    Anybody with good organizational skills, would be very very welcome. Carpenters, mechanics, engineers, architects, landscapers, grass mowers, photographers, graphic designers, etc.

    Although we treat our volunteers very well and the place is amazing overlooking the pacific ocean and the Osa Peninsula, we're not a labor school and do not have time to teach how to do manual work if you do not have any experience. So only relevant applications will be answered. (We receive A LOT of applications so, please contact us only if you already have experience in one or many of those fields and are motivated to work.)

    - Carpentry (building structures, using power tools, making furniture, restoring ceilings/roofs eaten by termites,);

    - Maintenance (sanding, varnishing, plastering, painting, cleaning);

    - Landscaping & Gardening (mowing the grass using a lawnmower, raking grass & leaves, maintaining flower garden, making fires to burn branches, collecting and peeling coconuts);

    - Concrete work (transforming a gigantic old pool into a skateboarding bowl), finishing a concrete floor in the common area.

    *️️️️*️️️️*️️️️We're currently in need of volunteers from now so if you are in Costa Rica and looking for a place, contact us with a description of your past working experience and references.*️️️️*️️️️*️️️️

    Minimum Length of stay: 1 week

    Working hours are in the morning from 6am to 9am and 10am to 12pm, 5 days/week and you have the afternoon off. For some tasks, the work schedule might be more flexible (ex. dishes after meals)

    (From experience, it is beneficial to wake up early to benefit from the cooler weather in the morning and less chance of rain during the green season).

    We ask for approximately 25 hours per week in exchange for accommodation in front of the sea, basic food for you to prepare your meals in a communal kitchen, all-you-can-drink coconuts, use of kitchen + common space.

    The work is hard and the sun gets hot but the place is truly amazing. Please only contact us if you are serious about coming to work and you can handle doing 5h of work per day.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

    Shared Dorm bed (up to 6 people) with fans located in front of the ocean so you can hear the waves crashing all day and night.

    Shared bathrooms (no hot water - but you won't need it anyway because it's the tropics).

    The accommodations are simple but comfortable.

    There is no wifi at our place, so if you need to work or have wifi, you must arrive here with a Claro Sim card and some recargas (phone credit vouchers) or an internet plan. If you are traveling around Central America, Claro offer plans valid between Canada and Argentina and it is a better deal than the pre-paid recargas.

    There are no ATMs where we are and many stores do not have the Claro sim cards in our area, so please arrive prepared. We will shop food for you in advance, there are some grocery stores and pulperias walking distance from our place, so if you want to buy more fancy stuff like ice cream, it's possible.

    What else ...

    We have 4 dogs and a cat. There is no wifi at the camp but you can get a sim card and a recharge for your cellphone to get internet. Common areas are non-smoking.

    You can rent a surfboard, book a private surf lesson or horseback riding tour ($) during your days off.
