This is a beautiful multi use farm overlooking the ocean in sunny and magical Tobago. We currently milk a few dozen goats, breed almost 100 rabbits, and grow a number of organic fruits and vegetables. We're ideally located on the island of Tobago so guests can access almost all the important towns, attractions and natural sites by bus or maxi taxi in under 40 minutes on their days off.

One of my daughters speaks fluent Spanish. My wife is perhaps one of the best cooks you will meet on the island and you with get to try her hand, as the local here like to say (get to taste her home style authentic local cooking). We can also teach you local Tobago dialect and way of speaking. I am well versed in all the magical and hidden attractions around the island and used to take visitors out sightseeing many years ago. You will learn to take care of goats, livestock, farm practises ideal in a tropical environment and maybe a lot more. Many visitors to Tobago find the island is a hidden eco paradise with access to diving, snorkeling, fishing, waterfalls and a rain forest, but accommodations are quite expensive for budget travellers. We provide a wonderful opportunity for budget and conscious travellers that may not be able to afford accommodations elsewhere to take in all these wonders on the island.

There are a lot of fun projects guests can help with! If you'd like to just start out easy, you can help with daily Goat milking, feeding and gathering new feed for our goats and bunnies. Or cleaning Goat poo and turning it into fertilizer! Some other pet projects that are high up on our agenda are experimenting with Goat cheese/yogurt/kefir/butter in addition to milk, creating a pathway of stairs leading from the cliff field down to the beach, planting new experimental crops in our main field, working on improving our small herb/spice/pepper garden, helping us to finalize a larger outdoor habitat for the bunnies and moving them there, starting a small apiary (beekeeping) project, potentially looking to get into gardening cacao for small scale chocolate making, getting creative and designing/architecturing unique guest houses...we want to create a beautiful home that looks like the front of a ship coming out from the cliff face, facing the ocean and the breathtaking views from there!

Right now we have a small converted shed that is ready to go (good for a single or couple!) and we are almost done an outhouse/shower for guests as well. We have ample tent space if workawayers have their own tents. We also have on hand a good two person and four person tent if you don't have your own tent and prefer to sleep somewhere in the fields!
Guests can help themselves to fresh Goat Milk from the farm and fruits and vegetables as they come to harvest. We can provide one or two other meals daily, often cooked by Shirley or one of my daughters, though they will often be non-veg. If you would like to help out in the kitchen and prep your own cuisine, that would be encouraged and we'd love to learn as you learn! We're flexible on how cooking works and it's something we can talk about before you get here to meet any dietary restrictions or see what is a best fit given your own skillsets in the kitchen.Algo más...
Argyle waterfall is just a 10 minute ride away. Scarborough, the main town on the island and home of the busy Friday - Saturday farmers market, is 40 minutes by bus or taxi, Speyside, a popular snorkeling and diving destination, is 30 minutes by bus or taxi. Castara is about 1 hour by bus and is a popular fishing village. I can help arrangements for fishing or boat trips with my brother who is in Charlotteville, or help take you out on the weekend to nearby attractions like the waterfall, local beaches or the rain forest. There are extensive trails to explore on the property itself, a small river bordering the property to relax by or go fishing, and the beach is about a 20 min walk away. We are hoping to have on hand a few mountain bikes for your convenience to explore the local area as it's very fun for biking! A large supermarket (Polson's) is about 10 minutes walk away and there is a fruit stand about 20 mins walk away or a few minutes by maxi taxi or bus, which come every 5-10 minutes most hours of the day, and cost between $4-15TT ($0.50-2USD) depending on where you are going.
Remember, we are located in Tobago! This is the sister, smaller, quieter, arguably more beautiful, safer and more undeveloped Island to the main one, Trinidad. There are more beaches here and it is popular destination for those keen on water sports, diving, snorkeling and fishing. You can fly into Trinidad or Tobago, or perhaps charter a private boat from Venezuela to Trinidad if you are on land in South America. To get from Trinidad to Tobago is very easy; you can take the daily ferry from Port of Spain to Scarborough, which costs $50TT ($7USD) each way, or a flight which costs $150TT ($21USD). Once in Tobago, we may be able to pick you up or you can take one of the frequent maxi taxis headed toward Charlotteville or bus and ask to get out at Polson's supermarket in Richmond!Un poco más de información

We learned a lot about farming and taking carw if the animals.
The best thing was for us was the family themselves. We loved every moment spent with them.
Hopefully see you again in the future.
