  Description

  Hello, my name is Ratan and I am from a small desert village, 25 km from Jaisalmer. I organise Camel Safari and I build an authentic eco desert hut camp near my village. I would love to get help for my place in the desert. It’s a unique place for this busy country, because you can experience real quietness and peace over here. No city noise, honking of cars and pollution. Just spacious and vast beautiful space around you with some cows, goats and camels. You have to like quietness and basic life. It would be good if you have an Indian sim card because we don't have wifi. You’ll have a great view from here to enjoy the sunrise and sunset. Many people like to take their beds out in the evening and place it next to the camp fire to sleep underneath the stars. Everything is possible here. We can cook on the fire or you can come to my family home and we eat there.
  
  I provide you with food (3 times a day) and accommodation in the authentic huts in return for your help with improving my computer skills for Social Media (Facebook, TripAdvisor), internet like the reservations and communication on Airbnb and Hostelworld, making wall paintings in the huts, speaking with guests and making sure they are happy. Nothing very difficult and I think you know much more about these things than I do. Maybe you have more suggestions for me once you are here.I would love for you to use your skills to improve this place together. Currently we also have three local staff to help with our guests.
  
  I speak Hindi, my local language (Marwari) and some English. I would love to improve my English for speaking, reading and writing because we don’t get a lot of education in the village. I’m just a simple, kind man who loves to learn from other people and is very open for feedback and suggestions.
  
  You can help us for 4/5 hours each day, but we are flexible. If you are happy, we are happy!
  You'll experience the local desert life here and it can be an unique experience for you as well.

  We are located 25 km from Jaisalmer, in a small village of a few hundred inhabitants. My village name is Chhatrel.
  Life is peaceful, the desert is at hand, together you can experience our culture and Rajasthani cuisine and especially our smiles and our patience.
  You get to experience the daily lives of Rajasthani locals. Learn to cook delicious Rajasthani food and also make local handicrafts and paintings if you like.
  
  In your free time you can make long walks in the beautiful desert, join me on Camel or Jeep Safari, visit my village, go to the fort in Jaisalmer, put on music in the camp and
  dance under the stars and make your own camp fire. Everything is possible here because we give you all the freedom. No one will disturb you.

  Aide

  I especially need help this winter from December to March for reservations and other computer skills. We would like you to help us answering the emails of any kind, tourist emails asking about bookings, about pick up service and things like this. We would like you to check on the computer any upcoming new booking, so that we know who and when people are arriving, which country they are from, etc. Because my English is not so good you would really be of great help. Also I need help for making wall paintings/graffiti and crafts in the huts and camp and assistance improving my camp on all levels. We will love to have anyone who can draw some cartoons and write beautiful quotes around here. I’m open for your skills, suggestions and improvements.
  When people arrive in the camp it would be nice if you help us with the check in stuff like passport and visa photocopies, writing the check-in information book and showing the guests their huts. We would also really like if you socialise with guests and make them feel comfortable.
  We are looking for volunteers to help us with simple stuff.

  Hébergement

  Accomodation will be in local village huts made from eco material to give you a typical Rajasthani experience 15 min walking from the village.
  
  We will provide 3 meals daily namely breakfast, lunch and dinner and evening tea in exchange of 25 hours/week of help. The times are flexible.
  Be aware that it's basic here, local style and very quiet. We have electricity, running water and a shower in my family home in the village 15 min walking from here. Same as a small shop for cookies, water, etc. If you need more please bring this from Jaisalmer. It would be good if you have a power bank, filter bottle and maybe a sleeping bag (but we have a lot of blankets as well).

  Jaisalmer city itself will fascinate you with its magnificent fort which is still inhabited by the Maharaja. Enjoy discovering its many shopping streets.
  Around Jaisalmer you have the Jain temples, its desert and its safaris.
  Also we have a lake, Gadsisar Sagar Lake.
  From the mystical story of an abandoned village protected for a girl from the clutches of a maharaja, Kuldhara Abandoned Village.
