So I came to Cat Ba as a workaway, but now I've decided to start my own hostel, tour company and functional English classes on the beautiful Cat Ba island.
My aim is to help train young locals to work in the tourism industry on the island and ensure that the island benifits from future development.
Your job is to buddy with a local Vietnamese worker and help them improve their English and customer service skills or you can join one of our local guides and learn more about Cat Ba, Lan Hay Bay, Ha Long Bay and Vietnam in general while teaching them English, French, German or any other language that will help them to provide guests with a better understanding of the island.
Cooking / shopping
Help with Eco project
Helping with Tourists
Help with Computers / internet
So the main thing is to enjoy the island and then tell the world how much you have.
You will also be able to help the staff learn a new language, get to know the local employee you're paired with while learning new customs and if you're vegan or vegetarian help our chefs understand how to cook vegan and vegetarian food.
So we have a few things you will be able to help with.
Helping tourists find the best spots on the island, so you will also have to explore it, your first 2 days will be touring the best spots on the island :)
Helping staff improve their English, Spanish, Russian or any other language skills.
We also need help with digital marketing and web development.
Speaking to guests to make them feel welcome while teaching our local staff, how to provide the best customer service and make friends with westerners.
The 2 main tasks for you, will be to help the local employee you're paired with improve their skill set and for you to have fun and speak to guests and other staff, to give a warm, welcoming and most of all safe and friendly environment.
