Description
We are a small family business, managing the backpackers place and a variety of other budget tourist accommodation.
For those wanting to experience life in a desert mountain village, while helping tourists from all over the world, this is an ideal location.
Far away from city lights, we are the ideal place to connect with yourself and nature.
All our permanent staff are from the local community.
Our dogs and cats are always looking for a walk or a nuzzle.Types d'aide et opportunités d'apprendre

Business here is very seasonal and we have hot summers and long, cold winters, so the work required from volunteers varies considerably, depending on our immediate needs and the interests and skills of the volunteer.
Volunteers are expected to work 20h/week, on a flexible basis, in return for board and lodging. This gives time to explore the village and surrounding mountains.
Work mainly involves interacting with guests, cleaning, gardening, property maintenance and caring for the animals, .
It is very important for volunteers to fit in with our family and the team of staff.Langues

Autres infos...
We lie in the foothills of the Sneeuberg Mountain Range, 50km north of Graaff Reinet.
Views of the Compassberg (2502m), the highest freestanding peak in the Cape, dominate the village.
The surrounding mountains are great for hiking and mountain biking and exploring the abundant fossil, San and more recent colonial history.
The weather is dramatic: hot summers with thunderstorms and flash-floods and winters with snow and heavy frost.
Tourism is now the main industry in the village and wool is the major product on the surrounding farms.
There is no night life in Nieu-Bethesda, but for those who enjoy relaxing in nature and browsing craft and coffee shops, book stores and art galleries, it is ideal.
There are no doctors, ATM’s, banks or petrol stations in Nieu-Bethesda.Informations complémentaires
