    Description

    Hola!

We are 4 people (two elder), 3 dogs, 2 cats, and a few chickens family.
We live on a farm of 2 hectares, close to the town of El Santuario, eastern Antioquia, Colombia.
It's located 1 hour and 30 minutes from Medellin and 30almost the same from the international airport Jose Maria Cordoba.

Our project is based on a regenerative design of permaculture, since 2012. We focus on agroforestry and regenerative agriculture, water management, and ecological buildings. We also conduct meetings, workshops, and courses on all these topics.

The main housing is composed of two buildings: An old house (over 80 years old) in traditional construction "tapia" (wide wall with earth). This house has 3 bedrooms and an external bathroom and kitchen; This is where we host volunteers. Volunteers can also make use of the camping zone to set up tents, where you can have your privacy, and contemplate the stars and sounds of nature. The external kitchen is for volunteers to cook their own food.

The second house is built in a technique called Bahareque (made with clay and bamboo) two bedrooms an external bathroom, and a room with a large kitchen/room.

There is an ecological toilet with a green roof, which we recommend prioritizing when you want to use the toilet.

There are also a chicken coop and a composting area in support of the growing area and seedbed. And a Bamboo quiosque with an efficient oven, where we cook pizza, bread and cakes.

Besides the volunteers, we're used to receiving friends and groups from other institutions to exchange knowledge and solve out many demands we have. We share our research in permaculture through experiments with chromatography and soil analysis, liquid biofertilizers, and bio construction techniques with earth and bamboo.

We enjoy working in the morning till afternoon with a variety of good music and a lot of energy!
The volunteers may choose their own schedule with flexibility, we just ask at least 5 to 6 hours per day, anytime in the morning or afternoon, in harmony with your own pace and your own culture.

IMPORTANT ABOUT LANGUAGE: volunteers must have basic knowledge of Spanish. A minimum of speaking and understanding SPANISH language improves the clarity and flow in the working routine of the project.
We do not demand perfection with language, only that we can understand each other. Of the 4 people in our family, only one speaks fluent English, so it's really important that the volunteer has some vocabulary in Spanish to make our coexistence easier. *️ We hope your understanding and to be honest about it. :) Thanks*️

So, if you are interested in coming to our farm please send us a message at least 1 month (max 3 weeks!) in advance so we can guarantee your reservation in our calendar and make all the arrangements.

Any other questions or doubts, just write asking and we will be happy to clarify anything.

(((((Good trip in the Colombian lands!!!)))))
