Help in the house
On the farm is a Cookery School so it's a great place to be if you are interested in food. We are a mile from the sea and 40 minutes from Cork city. The small fishing village of Ballycotton is just a few miles away.
You will enjoy living in the Irish countryside and improving your english. Also you have a chance to learn a variety of extra skills, and opportunities to watch cheese making and bread making all while meeting some wonderful people. There are lovely villages beaches and many things to do in the local area and we have a bikes for you to use.
We need an energetic entusiastic au pair to spend time with us. Our Au pair would look after our youngest child mostly while the others are at school and help out with the others in the afternoon, some light housework and staying on top of the laundry etc. We need help Monday -Friday 9am - 4.30ish weekends off. We live in the house we built at the end of Lydia's parents organic farm.
This host offers accommodation and payment.
Accommodation is a bedroom in the courtyard behind the house with wifi. We tend to eat early with the children and you are welcome to join in or do your own thing. Living beside a cookery school and working at markets means the food is good around here! The fridge and freezer are always full and you are welcome to help yourself. We would expect you to do your share of washing up. After 6pm we like to have some family time and i'm sure you will enjoy some space from us too!
We live in a beautiful rural area with lots of interesting things going on, particularly in the world of food and Organic farming. Our nearest village is Shanagarry (5 min bike ride), which has a pub, shop, pottery, craft shop and cafe and we are 4km from the fishing village of Ballycotton, where we keep a small fishing boat. We are close to many different beaches and lovely cliff walks.
