Description
Joe and I are both long term residents of Vanuatu. With help from our daughter Rae, we operate a property that hosts a small farm and a small tourist destination.
The tourist side of the venture is called Eden on the River. Our underlying philosophy is family first and then as farmers how to care for our environment. We are not organic but definitely "Clean and Green".
The property is 18 hectares and we farm free range pigs, chickens and sheep, tropical fruit and are also a tourism destination, with a variety of tour options, from our suspended bridge tour to mini golf. We have nearly 2 hectares landscaped gardens and a cafe.
We need help in extending the menu in the cafe/kitchen; using local fresh produce and would be interested in someone that could teach the staff about making jams and pickles. Any way we can incorporate our locally produced fruit and vegetables into our menu, would be appreciated. Business training, process streamlining and documenting process and procedures would be appreciated is another area where we need assistance.
Also required is someone with some mechanic skills. Our fleet of J10 Subarus, which we love, need care as does some of our other equipment. The workshop also requires from organisation and cleaning. Nothing is digital and all are pretty basic,Types of help and learning opportunities

Projects involving children

Help
Our requirements are only for skilled volunteers, it is essential for our workaways to be able share their skills and abilities so that our staff can learn and improve their skills.
We require someone with knowledge in ESL and must be English speaking to help our tourist guides improve their English.
Office administrators to train existing staff in basic booking keeping, computer and office skills.
Horticulture- training staff in agriculture skills, grafting and pruning skills would be appreciated.
We have a very special need of anybody that has the skill to design and build a mini hydro scheme.
We have also opened a small café so we require someone with the skills necessary to train our staff to produce simple fresh tasty food and train in food safety.
As you can imagine it is a full time job to keep all of our machinery and vehicles in shape so anyone with mechanical or panel beating skills would also be a great helpLanguages spoken

Accommodation
Volunteers have the use of a small guest cottage with its own bathroom and kitchen.
What else ...
