We are Alice and Mel an ‘older’ female couple living in an off grid property near Santa Bàrbara, in Cataluña, Spain. We’re looking for a couple of people travelling together to help us prepare our garden/trees for the onset of winter and also some painting of the exterior of the house.

Our workaways will learn to live ‘off grid’. We love to cook and exchange favourite recipes. There will be a great opportunity to improve language skills as the town has little ‘tourism’…and our language is English😜
Arbeit
General maintenance of house and patio including painting of the house exterior. General garden clearance, including weeding, strimming and planting. The pruning of our ‘shade trees’ is a priority this year so being strong and able enough to use hand saws, loppers and, possibly a chain saw is a must.

Unterkunft
Travellers will have a private sleeping and living area, shower room/ toilet facilities. Bedding, towels, basic toiletries and laundry provided. Free WiFi. Use of pool, weather permitting. Lunch and evening meals, bottled water, tea and coffee will be provided, you can ‘help yourself’ at breakfast ....sorry but we cannot cater for ‘special’ diets….this includes a vegetarian diet. We’re happy to have families travelling together but the youngest we can, safely, accommodate should be no less than 12/13 years of age.

Our finca is rural, 2 kilometres from a well serviced town with restaurants and bars…easily accessible on foot. We are about 15 mins from the coast and 20 mins from the Ebro delta. Because of the rural situation of our finca we feel that this placement is best suited to a couple or at least two people travelling together….also, should you wish to explore the area more your own transport would be of benefit.

Mel was generally in charge of the work and would give us our tasks clearly and would help us with anything we needed during the day. She was always very reasonable and organised the work so it was most convenient for us.
