  Description

  We are a couple around 50 and we run a farm and a "yurta camp" on a very nice hill on the Appennino Parmense near Borgo Val di Taro (Parma) .We had always dreamed to create something original in hospitality, an alternative to our life in Milan. That’s the reason why we thought to create a little corner of Mongolia. On top of the peculiar accomodation we are trying to create an enviroment in wich our guest can revive from everyday life and feel at ease. So we usually eat all together, we often spend long eveing in front to the bonfire .....
  
  Our certified biological farm (six hectares) consists of a wide vegetable garden whose fresh vegetables are just the ones provided to our guests, a small orchard and a beautiful lavender field from which we derive our essences.
  We are just on the boarder of the natural park Oasi dei Ghirardi
  
  We grow small fruits such as red and black currants, blackberries, raspberries and so on with which we manufacture jams, liquors and jellies that we use and sell in our agriturismo We also sell other products for the body derived from plants.
  
  We have cows, pigs, rabbits, horses, goats and chickens two couples of dogs and cats.
  What we can’t produce ourselves we take from the best local manufacturers with always the goal of zero mile products on our mind.
  
  
  Siamo una coppia di circa 50 anni e gestiamo una azienda agricola e un agricampeggio con tende yurta in cima ad una bellissima collina dell'Appennino Parmense, vicino a Borgo Val di Taro (PR). Abbiamo sempre avuto un sogno creare qualcosa di originale nel mondo dell'ospitalità, come alternativa alla frenetica vita Milanese da cui veniamo. Questa è la ragione per cui abbiamo pensato di creare un piccolo angolo di Mongolia proprio qui, in questo piccolo paradiso sull'Appennino, dove i nostri ospiti possano evadere dalla vita di ogni giorno e sentirsi a proprio agio
  
  La nostra azienda agricola (certificata bio) di circa 6 ettari Comprende un grande orto i cui prodotti vengono serviti ai nostri ospiti, un piccolo frutteto e un grande campo di lavanda, da cui deriviamo le nostre essenze.
  
  La raccolta dei nostri piccoli frutti, quali lamponi, uva spina, more etc ci consente di produrre le nostre marmellate, liquori e confetture che utilizziamo in agriturismo. Produciamo e vendiamo anche prodotti per il corpo derivati da piante coltivate o selvatiche
  
  Alleviamo mucche, maiali, conigli, cavalli, muli, anatre e galline, due cani e due gatti. Quello che non riusciamo a produrre direttamente cerchiamo di ottenerlo da aziende locali cercando di raggiungere l'obiettivo di prodotti a km 0

  Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

  We are willing to share our italian cultural background: language, food, hospitality. Due to the peculiarity of our accomodation (Yurts), a lot of very interesting people comes from all over the world and make this yurta camp a very interesting place to be.
  We will share our experiences in growing organic vegetable gardens and fruits, all what we have learned in years of transformation processes (jam and marmalade) and growing animals.
  On top of this you will be able to experience all the relevant aspects related to the hospitality activities
  
  Grazie alla peculiarità della nostra struttura (le yurta mongole) abbiamo solitamente ospiti molto interessanti che arrivano da ogni parte del mondo e che fanno un posto molto piacevole da vivere.
  Naturalmente c'è la nostra massima disponibilità a condividere la nostra esperienza maturata nel condurre un'azienda agricola bio e nei vari processi di trasformazione.
  In più potrete seguire tutti gli aspetti rilevanti legati all'attività di accoglienza dei turisti

  Help

  As you can easily imagine there are a lot of defferent tasks to work at. Some of them run all the year long like feeding animals, , maintanence of woodland and fields, some more seasonal like working in the vegetable garden, picking up berries, transforming them in jam and marmalades, guest's related activities.
  You can share with us your attitudes and preferences in order to define in advance the activities you will be predominantly dedicated at.
  
  We are expecting you to work for 5 hours a day for 5 days a week. We ask for a minimum stay of 2 weeks.
  
  Come potete facilmente immaginare ci sono un sacco di attività differenti da svolgere. Alcune durante tutto l'anno, come nutrire gli animali e la manutenzione di campi e boschi, altri più stagionali come i lavori nell'orto, la raccolta dei piccoli frutti e la trasformazione di prodotti e le attività legate all'ospitalità.
  Puoi condividere con noi le tue attitudine e preferenze in modo da definire in anticipo le attività a cui potrai prevalentemente dedicarti.
  
  Ci aspettiamo 5 ore di lavoro al giorno per 5 giorni alla settimana. Chiediamo una permanenza minima di 2 settimane.

  Accommodation

  You will be accomodated in a private or shared bedroom in our house. The bathroom will be shared with Simona, me and eventually with other people leaving with us.
  We usually accomodate as workawayers a maximum of 2people each time and we will communicate in advance if the room will be shared or private.
  
  Potrete dormire in una camera privata o condivisa nella nostra abitazione. Il bagno sarà condiviso con noi e con eventuali altri ospiti della casa.
  Solitamente riusciamo ad ospitare massimo 2 workawayer alla volta e comunicheremo in anticipo se dovrete condividere la stanza con un altra persona o se sarà ad uso privato.

  What else ...

  We are located on top of a hill on the boarder of a natural park (Oasi dei Ghirardi). So for wild life lovers there are many trakking possibilities starting right from here (dears, wild boars, foxes, birds of any kind.....are living in the park). Le Cinque Terre (Liguria) e Parma are about one hour of train from Borgo val di Taro. Many interesting castles are nearby (Compiano, Bardi.....)
  For a lot of other activities that we usually suggest to our guests refer to our website.
  IMPORTANT: we are in the middle of the nature 7 miles away from the nearer villages with shops, pubs.....so if you do not have a car it can be not so easy to reach them. We are glad to give you a ride anytime it will be compatible with our activities.
  
  Siamo proprio in cima ad una collina al confine con l'Oasi Naturale dei Ghirardi. Per cui chi ama la natura ci sono molteplici percorsi che possono essere intrapresi partendo da qui (daini, caprioli, cinghiali, volpi e volatili di ogni tipo popolano le aree confinanti. Le Cinque Terre e Parma sono a circa un'ora di treno da Borgo Val di Taro. Ci sono alcuni interessantissimi castelli nelle vicinanze (Compiano, Bardi)
  Per molte altre attività che solitamente consigliamo anche ai nostri ospiti vi suggeriamo di visitare il nostro sito-
  IMPORTANTE: siamo nel mezzo della natura a circa 8/9 km dai paesi più vicini con negozi e bar etc....se non avete una vettura a disposizione non è molto semplice raggiungerli. Saremo sempre lieti di offrivi dei passaggi, compatibilmente con l'attività in azienda.
