Attention: This is a 1-year expenses-paid position (starting in September 2024 until the beginning of July 2025), which is part of the European Solidarity Corps Programme .
You will have to register for the European Solidarity Programme. You must be between 18 -30 years old and reside in one of the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Iceland, North Macedonia, Turkey, Liechtenstein, Albania, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Egypt, Georgia, Israel, Jordan, Kosovo, Lebanon, Libya, Moldova, Montenegro, Morocco, Norway, Palestine, Russia, Serbia, Syria, Tunisia, Ukraine.

The Association La forêt du Je Libre is a non profit organisation founded in 2017 in order to create and manage the first forest kindergarten in France, called l'École en Forêt de Marsac. The school (//ecole-foret.fr) and association is located on the Domaine de Chantemerle, in 16570 Marsac (chantemerle.fr), a private, ecologically renovated and managed farm with a livery yard and bed&breakfast business, where it has access to 30 ha of forests and fields. Our forest kindergarden can accommodate up to 16 children aged between 2,5 and 6 years old. School takes place on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Fridays from 8:30-16:30. Mornings until after lunch-time are spent outside in nature (irrespective of the weather), followed by nap-time inside for the younger children and individual learning activities in the classroom. The volunteers will take part in the arrival and mid-term seminars organised by the National Agency. There is also a 3-day initiation seminar organised by Cool'eurs du Monde in Bordeaux at the beginning of your stay. The association La Forêt du Je Libre will develop individual projects with you, and ensure that you acquire a wide range of experience and new skills. The activities of our association are very diverse, so there is plenty of scope for getting involved outside of school time. French language training will be provided on a daily basis – in the work environment – and online.

Arbeit
We are looking for a volunteer whose mother tongue is English, Spanish, German or Italian to join the educational team on a daily basis in order to share his culture and language in playful manner. This is a very flexible position, which can evolve according to your interests. Activities include:interact with the children in your language, share your culture hosting the 'morning circle', play games in the classroom in the afternoonshost nature and other activities (for example: setting up wildlife cameras and identifying the animals with the children, building a hut in the forest)help the educational team to organize work and activities for the grouphelp to create content for our website, facebook andother social mediasupport the work of the association: fundraising, organising events, holiday nature camps.

You will be supporting our french-speaking educational team. Although you will be speaking in your mother tongue with the children, you will have plenty of opportunities to improve your french, with the families, the team and the local french community! All return travel costs are covered within the limits of the reimbursement grids of Europe and according to the distances in kilometres. We encourage and appreciate green travel (train, bus...). Everyone brings their own lunch to school. The accommodation (paid by the agency) will be located in Angoulême and can be either in a host family or in a shared, rented accommodation with young French people. Buses and bikes are available to volunteers who wish to travel to Angoulême and around. The volunteer will receive 400 euros per month for pocket money and food.

You enjoy sharing your culture and language, enjoy being mostly outside in nature - during all seasons. You have a passion for working with young children, enjoy communicating and working in a small close-knit team.
