    Description

We are a French-American family of 4 (including a very friendly 6yo and a 1yo), living on a small farm in Southeastern Louisiana. We have 10 ducks (including as of now 2 babies and 3 juveniles), 20 chicken, 1 cat, 2 turtles and many fish. We work from home: my husband is an artist (eco-art/bio-art) and biologist and I am his studio manager. We are also launching our new venture, Atelier de la Nature, an art, science and food education center and nature preserve. We are a pretty fun family (if I can say so myself) and love welcoming people.

    Help

We need help with many things, including child care, taking care of our 9 ducks and 8 chicken, gardening, maintenance of our back field (minimal as it is being returned to prairie) and miscellinious tasks related to launching our new project, an art, science and food education center and nature preserve.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

You'll get to discover the unique and festive culture of Cajun country, with its food, music and many many festivals. We are located 30 minutes from Lafayette, 45 minutes from Baton Rouge and about 2 hours from New Orleans. You'll also get to be part of Arnaudville community, a burgeoning town with a lot of creative energy. Volunteering with us, you'll learn a lot about Louisiana's nature and environement and can potentially learn few things about launching a new business. Oh and also you'll eat good food.

    Accommodation

We leave in a tiny house, so the only 2 options are the sofa or an inflatable mattress in the studio. We might also be able to find other accomodations on occasion.
