Description
We live in old converted farmhouse in southern France with spectacular views of the Pyrenees mountains close to the town of Castelnaudrey.
We are in easy reach of ancient walled "Le Cité" in Carcassonne and the "Rose City" of Toulouse with the added benefit of being located in the quiet french countryside with local walks.Types of help and learning opportunities
Help with Eco ProjectsGardeningAnimal CareCreating/ Cooking family mealsHelp around the houseGeneral MaintenanceCultural exchange and learning opportunities
Our location can be described as remote, stunning views in all direction, but we are close to two world heritage sites, the Canal du Midi and the medieval walled cite of Carcassonne. We are only 30 minutes from the city of Toulouse which is known as the Rose city because of the stone used to build a number of the older buildings. Toulouse is also known for being in the forefront of the aeronautical and aerospace technology.
All of this gives our visitors a wealth of choice to mix the old with the new. We are a Franco - Scottish couple who enjoy any manner of cultural exchange.Projects involving children

Help
Some general garden maintenance and help around the property. We also have two cats to feed and look after although they are independent as cats are, they do need a lot of love!
We also need once a year to take a weeks break so we are looking for couples who will be comfortable looking after our cats and maintaining the property during this time.

We enjoy living in this quite area of southern France which gives us all the benefits of country living. We are close to the ancient walled "Le Cité" in Carcassonne and the "canal du midi" two World Heritage Sites. We are also close to the city of Toulouse.
Our nearest town, Castelnaudry has all the amenities and a lovely market every Monday morning. We have spectacular views to the south and the Pyrenees mountains and to the north over the plain of Lauragais.

Already from the beginning, we felt very welcomed and the place quickly felt like home. Work wise we helped a little bit around the house for example cutting grass, or in the kitchen making dinners and desserts (sorry for the extra weight Wilf. 😜) We had lots of freedom… read more
They both came principally to look after our house and two cats when we were away for three days, which took place at the end of their two week stay with us.
We can only say that these two young ladies were perfectly thoughtful and fitted in to… read more
Overall, it was a horrible experience: they were too nice, the food was too delicious and the work was too easy. Hehe I'm just kidding - by the way it's what I've learned from Wilf Jr. and his British sense of humour (the joke's on you, Sir!).
