    Description

    Hello,
If you are 21 years or older, enthusiastic, and can work independently I would like to invite you to come and stay with us here in Hebron and learn everything about the culture and history in this beautiful part of the world. We can offer you free accommodation in our shared apartment and amazing Palestinian meals. You might even like to learn to cook a dish or two. In exchange, we would love for you to volunteer in our NGO close to the Old City of Hebron. You will have your own bedroom either in my parents' apartment or in the guest house when available. You will have access to our rooftop for spectacular views of the Old City and we have a lovely garden for you to relax in. My family and I live in the same building, so you will have their full support during your stay. This really is the best opportunity to live closely with Palestinian families and to understand Palestinian culture, life, and history.

    A snippet about us.

In 2015 we started an NGO. Our goals are to support the local Palestinian community economically and educationally, increase tourism to the region and offer international volunteers the opportunity to immerse themselves in this culture and understand the lives and history of Palestinians. We partner with four other local organizations to achieve this.

    An important note:
Hebron is a culturally conservative city and very different from many other cities you may have traveled to. Cultural norms are more restricted for women than men and you might like to think about how you feel about that before coming here. Clothing is modest for both men and women therefore we ask you to respect this during your stay with us. If you're unfamiliar with the customs of Palestine then please ask us some questions or do some research before you commit. We are happy to answer any questions you may have.
You cannot bring drugs or alcohol to the guest house.
    Thank you in advance!

    What we need.

Tourism is increasing in the region and we have a need for volunteers to help in all aspects of running our five-bedroomed guest house. We need you to be physically fit, willing to clean all guest areas, take care of washing the sheets and towels, and remake the beds. In exchange, you will get to meet and interact with guests from all over the world, make lifetime friends, feel part of a Palestinian family, and possibly learn a new language and ways of cooking.

We are also greatly in need of volunteers with basic - good IT and good interpersonal skills to help promote tourism to Hebron both online and face-to-face.

We will in the future again offer opportunities for people to also volunteer with our partner organizations in education, media, sport, and health fields.

    Accommodation

You will have your own bedroom in a very spacious apartment with a wonderful rooftop terrace and garden.
The apartments are modern and comfortable.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

With your time off you can wander around the souk here, and buy some delicious spices, sweets, crafts, or whatever you like. We have many historical sites to visit including the fourth holiest site for Muslims and UNESCO listed Ibrahimi Mosque. it is also a significant spiritual place for Christians and Jews as it is the burial place of Prophet Abraham and his wife Sarah, Rebecca, Isaac, Leah, and Jacob.
We have plenty of space so if you're into yoga and meditation then you can have your daily practice here!
The West Bank is small so you can get to other cities including Jerusalem easily. Bethlehem is only 30 minutes away by service (shared taxi) where there are many sites of interest. Of course, you can also travel to the State of Israel and see the awesome beaches, so many things to do here! There are many hiking trails to explore in the cooler, dry months.
We are extremely flexible here and base our relationships on trust, so we trust you'll help as much as you can and we will try to accommodate your needs. You will always have ongoing support from our volunteer coordinator and you will greatly enjoy the opportunity to meet new friends, and travelers from all over the world and experience Palestinian culture and life.
