Description
We are a trilingual (English/Spanish/French) household living in the Alpujarra mountains, south of Granada. We live in a beautiful ancient Moorish village, surrounded by spectacular mountains and natural freshwater springs. The village is part of a wonderful, vibrant local community. We co-own a large piece of land with a neighbour on which we have an organic vegetable garden and a chicken coop. We also own an olive grove a short walk from the village. We are looking for help taking care of the vegetable garden and the olive grove. Ideally, someone who can use a stimmer, and who is not afraid of a bit of digging and clearing.
We live in quite a remote place so we need someone who is pretty self-contained and happy to read and walk in their spare time. Having your own transport is a big plus, but if not, a driving license will do. You can use our car to move around when it's not in use. We have a dog, two cats, three goldfish and 10 chickens, so a love of animals is essential. I also have 10-year-old twins who are very friendly and sociable. Any skills that you could bring into their world would be most welcome; music, art, sports, play...
Your accommodation would consist of a self-contained apartment on the ground floor of our house which includes bedroom, kitchen/living room and a large bathroom.
There are no shops or bars in our village, this is a place to disconnect from the hassle and bustle of the modern world.Types of help and learning opportunities

We live in a two-story 500-year-old Moorish house which has been lovingly restored with insulated roofs and underfloor heating. We have a wood burner and open fireplaces. The main living quarters are upstairs but your accommodation will be downstairs where we have a second living room, guest bedroom and bathroom.
What else ...
Depending on the season there are many things you can do in your spare time. Most people come here to walk, there are hundreds of old mule paths and mountain tracks to explore to your heart's delight.
The Sierra Nevada mountains are just over an hour's drive away for those who enjoy skiing, and the coast is just over an hour's drive for the water lovers out there. You will be insured on our car and are welcome to use it whenever you like.
There are classes you can dip into (pilates, pottery, music lessons, horse riding, creative writing to name but a few)
The pace is slow so don't come if what you're looking for is cinemas and nightlife, we do have a couple of friendly bars and reastaurants up the road though.A little more information
