We are a group of parents that operate a quaint alternative school for children from pre-kinder to grade 6. We follow a home-school curriculum and so volunteers do not need experience as the material we have is user-friendly.
We are located in Playa El Zonte, El Salvador, about 45 min. from the International airport (SAL)
We are a non-profit organization and we take in 2 volunteers per cycle to teach children in a non-traditional setting. Applicants must feel comfortable teaching English or Math as a core subject, and they will also take on a supporting subject of their own. We provide coaching and support and work with volunteers'interests to build the schedule.
Our programs are based on 6 to 8-week cycles and we give priority to those willing to stay for a minimum of 3 months.
We require 15hrs a week in exchange for accommodation. We do not provide meals and the school has a full kitchen available for the volunteers.
We are currently looking for a MATH-FOCUSED volunteer for the Sept to Dec cycles, which mean that your core topic would be math for grade 3 to 5 plus supporting subjects that we can determine together.
