Hello my name is Shiba, I live with my wife and my 3 years old daughter.
The place where I live is Awa city in the prefecture of Tokushima where I own a small organic farm and have been farming for over 18 years now.
Do you know about Fukuoka Masanobu? He is a Japanese farmer known for his natural farming and a celebrated philosopher. I am trying to follow his path of organic growing and creating a sustainable environment.
On my farm I have one Japanese trainee who you will work along and live with. He is passionate about my dream of organic farming and the creation of a sustainable environment. Basically, he is working eight hours in one day. and, He is making a field schedule in contact with me every day.
We do not use tractors or big machines (as it consumes oil) and we do not use chemical fertilizers, only natural fertilizers such as compost.
If you look at agriculture today, only 80% of the worlds agricultural lands are owned by small farmers, each with less than 2 hectors of land. But, 70% of the worlds food production is done by small farmers and are accountable to providing for half of the worlds population.
But small farmers are suffering now and I would like to change that by teaching and learning about a sustainable environment for everyone, building a community together were everyone helps each other and the environment.
Unfortunately, in a capitalist society, we need to make profits right now to live. But hopefully with open minded people who are interested in changing society and the world around them for the better for everyone we can do this.
Please lend me your power!
