    Description

    My name is Emad.
I'm a Bedouin living together with my family in Wadi Rum village.
I work in tourism for a few years now. Together with my brothers, I'm running a traditional Bedouin camp for visitors all over the world. Our life is all about giving and showing the guests the best experience of the Wadi Rum desert. This includes sightseeing jeep tours, hiking the mountains, scrambling tours, sleeping under the stars, and cooking food in Bedouin style.

Staying in Wadi Rum village and being hosted with family is a great opportunity to get to know modern Bedouin life. My family would love to have you around and we will be happy to take you with us during activities, that we offer.

The southern part of Jordan, where the Wadi Rum protected area is located, is one of the most beautiful places on earth. It's a place surrounded by stunning nature and lots of things to explore. Outstanding desert landscapes or stunning sunsets are just breathtaking. You will see by yourself:)

Bedouins are very hospital and we love to host guests, welcome them into our lives and show them our culture. Today, many Bedouin earn their living from tourism but we still retain our traditional ways of life.

    Looking forward to welcoming you!

Volunteers can learn about living in a desert, surrounded by nature and far away from civilization.
Since you are a guest in my house, you will treat like a family member. I will take you on the desert tour for free so you can explore the Wadi Rum area, go hiking, or climbing. You are invited to join and see my family and friends, play cards and of course drink the best Bedouin tea.

Join our everyday life and get to know the modern Bedouin life.

  • Help

    Help

I need help with social networks, mail correspondence, booking answers, and sometimes updates on the website. You don't need to be an IT expert or an SEO manager. It's enough if you can help me with basic internet work. But it's important that you are more or less fluent in English.

    Help requires:
    - fluent in English
    - good writing skills
    - basic to advanced computer knowledge

    Accommodation

You will stay in the separate room next to my house. It's an office room at the same time. I provide a typical Bedouin bed with carpet and pillows. Very simple but comfortable. There is a bathroom inside of my house with hot water and a shower.
During the desert sightseeing tour is possible to sleep in our camp with a bed in the middle of the Wadi Rum desert.

My family provides 3 meals a day (breakfast, lunch, dinner). In case you will need some extra food, there is a small store in the village. We will try our best if you are a vegetarian. There is also one simple and cheap restaurant in the village.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

You can join sightseeing desert tours for free, go hiking, climbing, or go for a walk in the Wadi Rum village. You can also sandboard in the desert.

If you want to visit Aqaba, which is 40 km from Wadi Rum village, there is a taxi or local bus for 3JD. The bus to Petra is around 10JD and it takes 1,5 hours.

I have Wi-Fi in my house, runs on 4GD. Otherwise, mobile phone data is very cheap in Jordan. For a local sim card with 15GD, you will pay around 10JD.
