Description

David and Kim recently sold their small farm and are now ready to travel.

We are wanting to spend 6 months travelling around UK and Europe and believe the best way to get to really know a country/culture is to live and work with people.

We are healthy, pretty fit, friendly and easy going, are happy to get in and get the work done and relax afterwards. While we are interested in seeing the cities and towns, we love nature and beautiful scenery.

We both love food and are keen to try local foods as well as cook meal/s for you if you would like us to.

We have13 years orchard experience and grew mushrooms for 3 years. We have hosted over a hundred of backpackers (through various platforms) You can see our host profile called Limerise here (https://www.workaway.info/en/host/275973976787)

We are mostly after shorter stays (1 week) which we understand can be difficult for some hosts. Because we are mature, have initiative and lots of hands on (and general life) experience we are confident that we can hit the ground running and add value to hosts from day one!

David and Kim have 13 years farming experience. We owned and operated our own farm (lime orchard and mushroom farm) . We have 5 adult children so are experienced and enjoy children of all ages.

David loves working with his hands: fixing, building, repairing things. He is a liscenced gas fitter in Australia. He can weld, drive forklifts, tractors, use chainsaws and power tools. He is good at sharing his knowledge. David is also great at talking to customers and people in general, loves to share and listen to a story.

Kim enjoyed picking harvesting and packing the produce, she is an organiser and fairly process oriented. She can mow, do gardening (planting, weeding, harvesting) Kim is a good cook and has experience looking after horses, dogs, cats and chickens. Kim has experience in admin/office work and hospitality.

What else ...

We both love to walk daily and love food, altho we are trying to eat relatively healthy. Kim enjoys cooking and baking.
