    Description

We live on acreage in the beautiful luscious Fraser Valley of British Columbia, Canada. Surrounded by snow-capped mountains on two sides, the United States on one side (actually two pastures away), with Vancouver and the warm Pacific Ocean an hour west. We breed Standardbred harness racing horses & gorgeous Collie dogs.
We are senior retired husband & wife of 58 years with 3 sons and their wives, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandson!
We are a short driving distance to many many attractions including Hells Gate Canyon, Capilano Swinging Bridge, Grouse Mountain Gondola, Whistler & more. World famous Banff, Jasper & Lake Louise Alberta are a full days drive away.
I worked for many years as a School teacher so am able to help with proper English, speaking & writing.
YOU MUST BE ABLE TO DRIVE YOUR OWN CAR, and provide your own transportation to enjoy the many sight-seeing attractions. We are 5 miles from town with no bus service. Lots of rental companies available.

We are born Canadians with German & Irish ancestry. I worked in Secondary Schools and have experience teaching English. We are a traditional family with moral standards & Christian values. We enjoy the outdoors, family & friend bbqs & weiner roasts with a backyard firepit. We love camping & have a large trailer plus a truck camper, plus a side by side for off-road exploration.
We have hosted several farm stay young adults from Japan in the past. Many return for visits.

Workawayers must be experienced in handling horses. Feeding, mucking stalls /corrals, handling babies & yearlings. Summer includes general farm upkeep such as fencing, gardening, haying, and yard up keep. Maybe even painting if the need arises. We currently have 4 horses including mares, yearlings & babies. We have several breeding dogs plus puppies once or twice a year which you will need to be comfortable with & help with whatever is needed. I would also appreciate housekeeping help, cleaning, vacuuming etc. Sometimes we travel, or go camping. You can come with us depending on situation, or keep the home fires burning so to speak.
