Description
We are currently able to host 1 or 2 WorkAwayers for the month of July :)
Hello and welcome to our page.... I look forward to the possibility of hosting you :)
My family recently moved to a riverside property. We are in the beginning stages of planning and implementing food forests based upon a mix of permaculture, biodynamics, regenerative agriculture and land for wildlife. We live in a sub-tropical, unique area of regional NSW, on the East Coast, at Upper Orara which is close to Coffs Harbour and its beaches.
We need some help with variety of projects, cleaning and cooking as well as possibly some childcare. We live here with our 2 cats, free ranging chickens, bunny, duck and 4 friendly Pilgrim geese.
It is envisioned that you would like being a part of family life while you are here.
Currently we have the following projects to help with:
*Autmn veggie garden planting
*Build our winter veggie garden extension
*Painting projects- would you like to paint a mural, designs on a fence post, or a plain indoor wall a nice colour?
*Line some old water tanks with concrete to build additional permaculture raised garden beds
*Photography projects- Design, stage and take photos of our property for our new Instagram
Organising projects - organise our spaces to be functional!
*Bush regeneration- using the NSW weeds handbook learn about and remove weeds from the property
*Build and create a permaculture herb spiral
*Fruit tree regeneration with permaculture guild planting
*Spring cleaning projects - pick a room and make it sparkle!
*Animal care projects - help us to look after our 15 rescued animals :)
*Permaculture projects including Syntropic Ag or creating garden infrastructure from repurposed materials
*Upcycling furniture with chalk paint and designs
*Garden path projects
*Fence projects - permaculture style fences around the outdoor common area from recycled materials, also paint our fence posts with colourful designs and quotes
*Building furniture from pallets
*Mowing with a ride on and push mowers and helping to reduce the need to do this with permaculture solutions
*Tiling - tiling the kitchen with recycled tiles, replacing carpet flooring in rooms.
*Help my daughter learn to type

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
Enjoy a good rest here and spend some time being a part of a vibrant alternative Australian family and community. I can help you explore the natural wonderland that surrounds us by imparting my local knowledge and drive you to places when we are heading that way. I can share life wisdom and things I've learnt along the way. We've had WorkAwayers here who have enjoyed learning about cooking, parenting and permaculture. We are excellent at hosting people with limited English and teaching people more of our English language.

What else ...
We live in a sub-tropical, unique area of regional NSW, on the East Coast, close to Coffs Harbour and beaches at a riverside location. Surrounded by natural wonderlands nearby and others a short drive away. River sports, hiking, and surfing local beaches are just some of the local opportunities for recreation in this area.
Please note that public transport is very limited at this location (only the school bus which adults can catch), however I can give you a lift to town and other places when we are going that way if you don't have your own vehicle.
Wifi is available here free of charge.
There are so many incredible places to explore in the Coffs Harbour Region (it's considered an eco-tourist destination) starting with the Orara River next to our back yard. We have a canoe and kayaks you can use to explore the river :)A little more information

Anna and Toby arrived here at a challenging time and were adaptable, cheerful, helpful, innovative, took initiative and have great skills to offer. Our only regret was saying goodbye before the pizza oven was finished.
