Area: Auvergne*** We are looking for a couple or duo from half october until half november as well as for 2015 ! A mix of some light handy-man skils and kitchen-restaurant-hotel skills would be ideal! *** Hi, We, Eric and Caroline are a Dutch couple (36 & 41) that moved to France in 2010 to start a small hotel-restaurant-bar in a beautiful mountainous/volcanic area in the middle of France. This is outdoor-country with lots of walking and cycling trails, fishing, parapenting, etc. etc. In the winter there is a large ski area at 15 minutes drive (Superbesse). Our hotel has a homely atmosphere with 4 rooms and we have a restaurant with local specialties, bar, garden and terrace. We do most of the work ourselves. Caroline is the main cook and laundry lady and Eric does most of the maintenance, admin, marketing, construction work, waitering, bar tendering, shopping. Cleaning is our joined task. July/August are the busiest periods in which we can just manage the day-to-day tasks by ourselves. At the same time there is a lot of other work to be done as well, such as maintenance work, garden & vegetable garden and building our apartment on the attic. We also have two lovely dogs that get a bit neglected in the high season... Off season we spend our time on small maintenance and larger renovation projects, such as painting, making our apartment on the attic, preparing the garden etc.
Area: New Mexico.Permaculture Sustainability and learning to live in harmony w nature and each other is the only way humanity can survive to evolve into a beautiful future for all. In my twenties every where I lived I built gardens and ponds and renovated my rented spaces. People would call me crazy for putting my transformation energy into property that wasnt "mine". I always told em... nobody really owns mother earth besides i live here I have to like it. Before long the neighborhoods I lived in would sprout more gardens.he he :-) . IF Workaway had been around back then sheesh I'd probably still be travelling the world building gardens with people. So now I am the caretaker of a half acre mountain plot , my mini Machu Picchu, building terraces to catch the rainwater and have been working on the basic infrastructure and defining garden layout spaces. Havinig lived in a dollhouse for four years ages ago that was one of the first things I built here... I see this place as prototype for creative sustainable living and theres lots to do to finish that vision and give this plot back to the world as an example. Animal friendly chickens duck goose dog cat and parot! Need help w engineering certain aspects of ongoing projects and carpentry help as well I look forward to meeting great minds that think alike. Im also looking for someone with computer/graphics skill to help me with a children's book. Thx Red
Area: IbizaHello! We are an organic farm that has just restarted its business. We grow organic vegetables and fruit in the valley near Eivissa, the capital ‘city’. We are: Sanne from Holland; who works in the garden and Guillermo from Ibiza; the landowner and we run it together. With love for working with the earth to produce good clean food and a connection to nature we started the business again last year, building up slowly. (It was open for 5 years and closed its doors about 2 years ago.)
