Area: Nord-Trøndelag, middle of NorwayWe are a couple in the beginning of the sixties. Our alternative lifestyle, we have had for 20 to 30 years. We have a great interest in clean food and nutrition and alternative therapies. We are living at a small farm. The farm is 75 acres. No animals. Most of it is forest area, but we have a range of 10 acres where we now are creating an outdoor arena for therapy and teaching, and for the use of natural and cultural based experiences in tourism. The residential house on the farm, is now totaly renovated and we use this for treatment, courses, meetings and accommodation. At the farm there are also two smaller houses, and a boathouse by the waterfront. We place great emphasis on colours and their significance for us humans, and therefore we are in the process of establishing our place (Colour-mound). We will also create an area for vegetables, one with herbs and a place with sow-benches for use in garden therapy (horticultural therapy). Harvesting and drying herbs is also relevant tasks. We are also running a garden, Colour garden, a few miles away from where we live. Here we also need help to keep it in working order. We are working a lot, but we would not ask people to do jobs we would not do ourselves.
Area: Western AustraliaMy name is Hayley. We are a Christian family living in the Mid West of Western Australia. Our family consists of myself and my husband and our three young children, one who is 4, a 3 year old and a 1 year old. I should also mention we have two small dogs who are also part of the family! We have lived in the Mid West since 2006 and love the relaxed lifestyle.

Setting up a eco retreat, building treehouses and strawbail cottages. Permiculture gardens and some livestock. Working towards self-surficenty. If you like yoga, gardening, living in nature, building (in the trees) swimming, hiking, great food and conversation, exchanging ideas, playing with kids, arts and creating fun projects, come and join us. We eat mostly vegetarian food...as much as possible from the farm and surrounding area....we harvest wild food...and only seasonal foods are provided.
Area: Veliko TurnovoThe farm is run by myself and my young son, located south of Veliko Turnovo, so babysitting duties are always needed. It is run organically and also working along the lines of permaculture, companion planting etc.. There are rabbits, Muscovy ducks, chickens, and quail, as well as cats and dogs on the farm. This is the forth year on the farm and there is everything to do or improve upon, from maintaining the drive, starting a living hedge, creating a new area around the reed beds, to standard fencing, building raised beds, fixing animal pens, making new ones, even sorting out a small play park for the children. There would be a lot of scope to add your own touches to some jobs, as well as others that would have to be followed exactly. Ideas are more than welcome too. It would best suit those that want some peace and tranquillity or a chance to try your hand at a few new skills. This farm is 20km from the nearest town, in a hamlet that is high and isolated. Lifts can be given into the town when we are going. In the town of Elena there are shops and bars, swimming pools and museums, as well as a waterfall, a dam and eco trails, if you go into town during your down time. During the height of summer we have extreme heat (mid July to Mid September), so most work will be done very early 7.30am and/or after 5pm, on wet days, there will be barns to clear and a lot of splashing about. No alcohol or cigarettes will be provided and we ask that smoking is kept to designated area, purely due to the fire risk it poses on a farm. At the moment there is a lot of gardening and digging to be done. The digging is for making an under ground green house - Walipini
Area: OsloOur farm is centrally located between Oslo and the main airport in Norway: Gardermoen. It only takes 30 min by train to the central station in Oslo (3. km to the station. Bikes on the farm) Despite its central location the farm is really in the countryside, surrounded by hills, wheat fields and forests with deer and moose. We have just taken over the farm after my father and are in the beginning of everything. We grow wheat and are planning to have vegetables, hens, ducks and some goats. The house was built in 1914. The ground floor is newly renovated in typical style of 1914. We will accomadate you in your own room with wi-fi, and an adjacent bathroom. We can offer your own kitchen facilities if you prefer, or you can share with us. We are a very social couple interessted in people. At the moment we are part time farmers with other jobs. One is a sociologist working with refugees in Oslo, while the other is a communication officer for a government agency in Oslo. We are interested in culture and languages; english, german and spanish understood. We would love to learn your language and culture, and if you are interested we can introduce you to our language and traditions. We are looking for helpers in april/may 2014. We are looking for strong men/couple who have experience and training in carpentry. Special skills in gardening is also interesting since we are restoring the old garden on the farm, but because of the climate in Norway the garden project is starting in may/june.
