Description

Hi
We are Ross and Lauren. We plan to travel throughout Italy and Switzerland until Mid July and are looking to meet new people, see new things, and work hard while abroad.

The employment position in the USA that we left in order to travel was at a remote guest lodging ranch on the Colorado River of the Grand Canyon National Park called Phantom Ranch. It is a very humbling lifestyle with limited amenities and abundant natural beauty surrounding us.

While there, we became accustomed to living and working with 18 other people from various regions and heritages, mostly of the US, as well as helping to accommodate for up to 150 guests/tourists from all over the world. We are very interested in working on Eco-progressive projects (farming, construction, hospitality, cooking, art, animals, childcare ect,.).

The nature of our prior job required us to be accountable for each co-worker considering we, as a group, rotated through each of the 8-9 tasks that are required to run our hospitality venture. Because of this, We would be very content working alone on your project(s), however we work exceptionally well with people in a team setting.

The jobs included: cooking family style for large groups, cleaning, maintinence, hosting, managing monies, greeting guests, construction, painting, harvesting crops and hiking in and out of the Grand Canyon once or twice per month to get to and from work.

We consider this lifestyle to be extremely rewarding because of the natural beauty, but moreso because of the close knit dynamic community that we as employees had formed through hard work and mutal respect.
We had a ton of fun and worked extremely hard for our free time in our unique environment. We LOVED IT!

Also, both of us are passionately interested in sustainable development and lifestyle. We are hungry to learn more and help others with their farms and eco projects. We are both creative and interested in the arts as well, and would appreciate getting involved with any art project.

Since being in Italy, Ross has experience performing the lemon harvest on 200 tress, clearing cactus, concrete work, laying driveways, plastering, painting, carpentry, planting, propagating, cooking, and caring for animals. Lauren has cleaned/pruned olive trees, done gardening, house cleaning, pool cleaning, painting, organizing, cooking, caring for animals.
