Area:We are Toby, Ulla and Alistair (our 3 year old boy) currently living in Latvia. We live 150m from the Baltic sea in the middle of nature and are building an eco guesthouse. We have been working on the project for 4 years and have made a lot of progress. We have built a beautiful wooden building and the land is starting to take shape. Anyone who would like to come and help out in exchange for lodgings, a chance to sit in peace and good food and company, is very welcome.
Area: EnglandHi our names are James and Tamara Stubbs. We live with our dog in a small Somerset village nestled in the hills outside of Frome (7 miles). James works from home and Tamara freelances and when she is not at home she could be anywhere in the world. It is a very sociable village with lots of things going on and a vibrant pub. There are no shops here but just 4 miles away is the small town of Bruton which has everything from a post office to a good butcher. Also some good additional pubs and great places to eat and drink. Batcombe is a very classic, unspoilt and very friendly English village and the roads here are very quiet. The walking is exceptional, hilly, and the dog is always up for extra walks, if you wanted the company. There are some interesting artisan food and drink producers in the area. We are near to Frome, Glastonbury, Wells, Stonehenge, Cheddar Gorge, Bradford-on-Avon, Bath. London is about 2 hours away either by train or there is an excellent coach service. If you are looking for classic English country life you would find it here. The villagers are worldly, welcoming and many, possibly most, have moved into the area from else where. There is no public transport but we will be happy to give a number of lifts to the local towns and sights during your time here. Ah yes! Our project. We have brought an old cottage which is has just been completely renovated. There are still odd jobs to do in the house but we really want to get the garden back where the builders have killed it. We would be looking for someone who enjoys gardening but would be happy to turn there hand at other projects in the home.
