Area: East CoastOur family lives in a great neighborhood in downtown Baltimore. You can walk to the Inner Harbor, restaurants and museums. Easy train access to New York and Washington DC. We need help with interior painting. We also want to improve our Italian.
Area: ZurichWe are an American family of four with a little dog, living just outside of Zurich (Horgen). Our sons were born April 2009 and June 2010. We love Switzerland and all it's natural beauty. We have been here since Feb 2011 and haven't stopped exploring Europe. My husband works full time and I am running a small business part time. There are many activities to enjoy close by. One can get to Zurich by train in less than 20 minutes, swimming in the lake in summer, hiking, skiing and other amazing mountain activities, most accessible by train!
Area: Alentejo, Vila ViçosaWe are a Dutch couple who have become the managers of a lovely Quinta in Portugal last year. The Quinta was unoccupied for five years and it was up to us to get it up and running again. Last year we had several workawayers who helped us with painting and renovating the buildings. We had a great summer with a lot of satisfied guests. We are now looking for a few volunteers to help us to get the Quinta in good shape for the next season and with some renovations which still has to be done. We offer shelter and food in a relaxed atmosphere.
Area: CataloniaHi. Hubby and I are an English couple who live with our 3 dogs in a beautiful rural area of Catalonia surrounded by mountains in an eco friendly house that we built ourselves. Our farm is around 8 acres (40,000 sq metres) growing predominantly Olives (harvested in the wintertime) and Carobs (harvested in the summertime). At present our garden is a work in progress but it is our aim to grow as much of our own food as possible in the very near future. Our home lies not far from the River Ebro where giant cat fish swim and wait for you to try your hand at catching them. During March/April you can watch dozens of birds of prey circling our home in an aerial display which will leave you breathless. The Ebro Delta lies 45 minutes from our home where you will see Egrets going about their business, Storks and Herons abound and if you are very lucky you may see a turtle or two climb onto the beach to lay their eggs. Wild Boar roam the mountainsides as do Wild Goats there is even a few Wild Deer hereabouts and we have been lucky enough to see a couple early one morning. Historical sites surround our home and the beach is but a short drive (45 minutes) so your free time need not be spent on the farm. Barcelona is but a couple of hours on the train north of here where the fantastic sights, architecture, culture and atmosphere will blow your mind! And for the big kids in us all Portaventura and Salou are about an hour away. France is but a short hop, whilst Ferries to Italy can be caught in Barca for those of you who wish to combine your stay with us in with a trip around Europe.
Area: New South WalesThe Hotel is a National Estate listed heritage building located in Trundle NSW. The hotel is on the widest main street in the Southern Hemisphere (60mtrs wide for 2 lanes) & the hotel is surrounded by a 90 metre verandah which is the 2nd largest in NSW. Trundle is a small farming town of around 400 people and is approx 5 hours west of Sydney. The Hotel was puchased April 2009 in a rundown state and we are slowly bringing it back to its former glory when it was built in 1912.
