Description
My name is Darren, but I prefer to be called Daz. I have been on quite the journey in the past decade since completing my degree.
I have worked and volunteered my way to almost 50 countries. The journey has been phenomenal. The recent global events halted my adventures but they can't stop the pull my nomadic and adventurous soul feels for freedom and new experiences.
For the past two months I have been working on a continuation of a project I started in 2019-2022. Renovating a 300+ year old stable yard on a Cornish Estate. My friends were extending their business and adding in a Cocktail bar, the project was a year behind and within two months I had managed to get it open.
Not only have I opened the cocktail bar, I have also pushed on the other stages of the project including moving the shop, and renovating the upstairs rooms.
On this project I was building, managing resources, boosting morale, fixing details and working in the Café. I like to be 10-20 steps ahead, will always raise ideas for example on this project I also documented the process/ gave social media suggestions and even made videos.
I have been told Im like a tug boat that pulls cruise ships with their reverse gear on. If I have the resources available and understand the desired outcome's then I am relentless.
Currently seeking out an even bigger challenge/ opportunity whilst I build some of my own projects. Ideally no UK based projects, but I am open minded.
looking forward to some more expansive projects

I arrived at the perfect moment, several large jobs were about to start so there was a real buzz about the place. Felix really allows you to get on with jobs and encourages you to push your comfort zone. I was allowed to figure things out and improvise which was refreshing.… read more
Besides performing daily tasks both in the house and with our animals, he participated in various building projects. We did concrete work on our rainwater cistern, woodworking on our star trailer, sewage pipe digging and many other tasks, which he enthusiastically jumped onto.
I can clearly recommend… read more

I can not thank them enough for everything they did during my short visit. I turned up with a stomach infection and they were super patient whilst I sorted out my health. Firstly by running me to the local doctors several times and with the endless amounts of healthy and… read more

Darren helped us for three months last Autumn and it was a pleasure to have him around. He came with a few skills but that didn't deter him or us, his can do attitude meant he left with so many more skills and he helped us with so so many projects in our time together it is hard to list them all. No job to big… read more
