Hi hello everyone !

I'm Alice, 31 years old, and I recently got my working holiday visa for Japan (yessss), where I’m currently staying until summer 2024! I’m starting my journey with sightseeing in Hokkaido until the end of October, from when I would love to find a host.
I would like to make the most of that experience, and try different type of workaways (and wwoofings), particularly in the Hokkaidō, Tōhōku, Kantō and Kansai regions! If possible, I would also be delighted to try it in nearby other countries, such as South Korea, only if my budget allows me to do so though.

I got the chance to experience my first workaway back in 2016 (way too long ago if you ask me...), in the country side of Japan, and I'm really thankful to the family that welcomed me during more than two months.

I love meeting different type of people, and the more open-minded they are, the better! I'm passionate about singing, Japanese history and writing stories; (and travelling, but that implies money which is usually lacking heh.) I also enjoy music, playing games (video games, board games…), hiking, animals, esotericism, learning new languages, nature,... I can easily add history too, photography and social sciences. I'm very eager to share the things I like with others, and vice-versa.... I'm the dreamy type of character, but I'm hard-working and perfectionist, eager to learn and try out things I've never done before!

I'll do my best for the next workaway experience to be as good as possible! Well, any experience is good to take in the end, I'm very happy to have found out this site to begin with. And I'm going to stop writing now, I think it's already a bit too much?

With language starts many things, thus I’m very interested in learning and teaching it if I can; French is my mother tongue, I’m fluent in English and I have some Spanish basis; my Japanese is not bad but still not nearly good haha! One of my main goal is to become fluent in Japanese too, so sharing would be amazing!

WOOO TOOK ME SO LONG TO FINALLY LEAVE MY FEEDBACK!! But the thing is we easily forget we live in a host house in Rumi's family's.

Wheeeeeeere should I start... Well, it was my very first workaway experience, as for my very first time leaving my country for so long. I stayed there almost two months and a half!

That experience was like, wow,… read more intense for me, in a VERY good way. Rumi's family welcomed me very warmly, and I actually quickly felt at home. Since I've stayed a long time, in the end I had to even remember myself I was a workawayer and I should like ask if they needed anything or just go and talk, because I really felt like being a part of the family and so sometimes forgot my dues hahaha.

They are very hardworking, open-minded, clever, warm, charming, funny, helpful and understanding people, and well I could go on and on haha. I think you've guessed by now that I love them.
During summer, they are very busy and tired but still are careful to be kind and attentive to you. I could meet some of their friends around the end of my stay too, and they have a veeeery good team haha. I MISS THEIR CATS AND CHICKENS TOO. I swear you'll love them.

I couldn't talk japanese well then, having studied it since only a year, but Rumi's english is pretty good, and we've talk A LOT, as she is a person who has so much to share. Ma-chan, her husband, mostly speak japanese but he tries hard to try and communicate, and I recommand to people who wanna go there to be able to talk at least a bit of japanese, because it's even more interesting that way! Their son, Ryû, let me his bedroom for the whole summer, he doesn't dare to interact too much but he've had very cute little attentions, and as a teenager he goes on with his life and I loved to see him and his father playing around at night hahaha.

A little word about landscape: of course you have to love trees! I loved walking around Rumi's house, it's intense and beautiful (and mystic, I dare to say).

(If you are afraid of spiders or insects, you shouldn't stop yourself because of that. I had not a particularly easygoing relation with them, but I swear now I absolutely don't care! When you're surrounded by people who don't mind it a little bit, you end up feeling the same. And spiders there are kind ones! I just had to say that haha.)

I will write a book if I continue (and I could), so I think I'm stopping here. I've managed to share my main feelings about that experience. I'll never forget it for SURE, it being a precious memory, and I'm still getting warm inside when thinking back about it, and often dream about it, miss it.

So THANK YOU VERY MUCH, thanks for your patience and time, (AND good meals, omg I almost forgot, the food, yum) and I hope we will keep in touch sometimes, really really hope, even if I know you already got so many people to keep in touch with haha!
