I can´t upload my photo! Am I doing something wrong?

Uploading pictures should be no problem. However, here a few things you might want to check if there is a problem with uploading a picutre:

  1. Please note that allowed formats are JPG, GIF, or PNG. Other files will not be processed
  2. Your browser can sometimes show you the old picture, even though you uploadad a new one (others will of course see only the new one). Please try refreshing your profile page.
  3. If the file you are uploading is very large (more than 1,2 or 3 MB) and you have a slow connection to the internet, that might lead to problems with uploads.

If you saw a message, that upload was successful, it is most probably the refreshing thing (2.). Otherwise you are welcome to mail us your picture, and we will upload it for you or see what the problem is.

 

I can´t reset my password!  Am I doing something wrong?

To reset your password, please follow the link "lost password" on the login page (it is a different one for workawayers than for hosts). Enter your user name or email address in the form and submit it, you will then receive an email containing a link to reset your password.

Using the new password you set you can now login to your profile.

 

I can‘t log into my account! What can I do?

This could have several reasons. Please try these steps:

make sure, that you are allowing cookies from www.workaway.info

  • try clearing the cache and all the cookies from workaway.info from your internet browser
  • Find out, if your internet service provider requires or recommends web proxy settings. If so, be sure you are using these settings.
  • Firewalls, anonymizing or other "security software" could be blocking session data from being saved.
 

How can I see my profile online?

On your welcome page (the one you are redirected to after logging in), look for a link saying "View my profile online" on the bottom of the page. Please note, that your profile can only be seen online after you have been verified by a member of the Workaway team (hosts) or after your payment of the fee has been completed (Workawayers).

 

I registered but didn´t pay. How can I pay now?

Just login to our site using your chosen user name and password. If we have not received your payment yet, you will find a link to proceed with payment on the top of the page you are on after logging in. If there is no payment link, this means you have paid and you can contact any host you like via our site (go to their profile and use the form for sending emails).

 

Whats the difference between individual and couple membership?

With couple membership hosts can see you are travelling together as a couple and know each other. (Hosts  prefer to see the details of both workawayers not just one!)You can add both your details under the same profile and both your names will appear in the listing.

 

Can I upgrade my account from an individual membership to a couple membership?

Please send us an email containing your user name / email address, and we will send you further istructions and a link for paying the upgrade fee of 10 euros.
After we received your payment, we will upgrade your membership into a "couple" membership,

 

I only want to contact one of the hosts on the list ..can you send me their email?

To contact any of the hosts on the list you´ll need to sign up as a workawayer! This is  so we have your details and can verify you. Also setting up this site, maintaining it, supporting, finding hosts etc. is actually a lot of work, that only gets paid for by workawayers signing up!

 

I don´t have a credit card. How can I pay the fee?

You can connect your bank account to paypal and send the fee via bank transfer or you can transfer money directly to our account  (but this is not instant and we have to wait for the money to clear before verifying you.)

Is this safe? How do I know that I can trust the hosts?

Workaway works on trust!  Hosts are verified by us but after that it is totally your responsibility to make contact and decide whether you want to go or not. We advise you to ask any questions you like by email and if you´re really not sure then a phone conversation.  We are also slowly adding a feedback system where you can read experiences by other workawayers!
We have never had any issues with hosts or workawayers since we started the site!

Workaway works on trust!  We hold all signed up workawayer details  We advise asking any questions you like by email and if you´re really not sure then a phone converstion. We are also slowly adding a feedback system where you can read experiences by other  hosts!
We have never had any issues with hosts or workawayers since we started the site!

 

How current are the listings on the site?

All listings offered by hosts are on an ongoing basis. This means that hosts have volunteers coming and going all the time. Sometimes however hosts may take a break or have volunteers for the time being. It´s just a matter of checking the calendars and contacting them with  your profile filled in letting them know how you can help...
