Area: OkayamaI have an English conversation school in Kyoto, Osaka and Shiga(Kansai area). In 2012, I moved to this place and establishing an "English language village". Students can study English in an amazing atmosphere(100-year-old house, very quiet, nice view, bamboo forests and farms in 10,000 m2 area.) Our place is 1 hour bus ride and 20 min walk from JR Okayama station. When students(adults only) are here, you can talk to them, and if not, we have farming, forest maintenance and house maintenance work.
Area: Valencian CommunityWe came to Spain in October 2013 and moved into a great part cave house that is set in the most beautiful countryside around 40 mins from alicante airport. Nestled into the mountains and just 10 minutes away from the local town of Pinoso we have a beautiful view of a sleepy little village and quiet locality. Our village (Encebras) is free from light pollution and a perfect place to enjoy the night skies. Phil likes to play guitar and I ( Lesley) like to cook, you will often find us sitting on the terrace with a bottle of wine, playing an instrument in the warm sunshine. We have interests in a range of holistic practices and would also welcome people who could exchange board for training in massage, aromatherapy, photography, any holistic practice we do not already practice...drop us a line if you'd like to stay and have something reciprocal to offer. We promise to consider each mail we receive. We have 2 cats that live with us (and another 5 or 6 that would like to!) and have plenty of pictures of the area we live in and indeed, our home, you can find them on our selfconnecting website. Drop us a line if spending some time in rural Spain appeals.
Area: AndaluciaWe are a British couple living outside the village of Torrox, 45 minutes from Malaga. We are committed to growing and eating organically and starting to develop permaculture. We keep chickens and have 4 dogs and a number of cats. Mainly we cook vegetarian food that we grow. WE are interested in sustainable projects on our farm and around the house. We have a fanstastic climate all year round and we are only 4 k from the beach. and 10 minutes walk from the village. WE have wifi in the house.
Area: Languedoc RoussillonWe are Patt and Alan Baxter. We have a large property in Prats de Mollo, a beautiful Catalan village in the French Pyrenees, fifteen minutes from the border with Spain. We have eleven apartments available to let to tourists, 'curists' (people who come for treatments at La Preste a famous spa seven kilometers away) and pottery students. Alan is a potter. We have a workshop and gallery where we run courses and exhibit. Please ask for our websites. We moved here from the UK to France in 2003. There was a lot of work to be done renovating the property while we continued to let its eleven apartments during this period. The pottery workshop was a new build into one of the large garage spaces. This was completed and opened late in 2006. We run local courses on Thursday afternoons throughout the year and accept bookings for longer courses, these can be from anywhere.
Area: North CanterburyWe're a family of 4 with a daughter (8) and a son (5), who are trying to establish a healthy organic lifestyle farm on 20 acres in North Canterbury. We need help year round with our vegetable garden. We are building our house ourselves and will sometimes need help with this too. We enjoy meeting people and learning from other cultures, are open-minded, friendly, and non-smokers. We're educating our children at home so we welcome the chance to bring the world to us. We are located in North Canterbury, approximately 10 km from the village of Cust, 15 km from Oxford township, 20 km from Rangiora, 40 Km from Christchurch. There are lots of things to do in the area including the Waimakariri River, Ashley Gorge, fishing, tramping, mountain biking, kayaking, golf and horseriding.
