Area: MadridWe are a family with two children aged 1 and 4 years. We live in a small town, 60 km from Madrid, well connected to the capital (Moncloa district) by a bus that takes 50 minutes. We enjoy walking and being with our children. Now we are interested in hosting someone in September/Octover/November.
Area: India, RajasthanWe are a grassroots organization working for village youth education, basic health and hygiene. We are also supporting other causes like helping HIV patients and homeless people with serious mental and physical disabilities. We are looking for people who are interested in participating in our cultural exchange program as well as volunteering for our foundation as a teacher assistant working with HIV positive children. Because of the educational nature of the volunteering placement, we favor volunteers with previous relevant experience that can benefit both the foundation and volunteers. We also need someone who can market our guest house which is a source of funding for our rural youth education and awareness centers. This later role is now developing into a busy PR/Online Representative role necessary for both our guest house and youth centers. The volunteers mostly work 5 hrs a day, 5 days a week. Depending on the placement, a typical day includes online research in relation to projects, travel time to centers and actual field work. Volunteers can work longer hours if they wish. However, we encourage people to take necessary leisure time to relax and enjoy what their environment has got to offer. At any point of time we can have a group of 4 to 6 people. We can place them on different projects mostly volunteering with children education, health and recreation activities. We prefer volunteers who stay for a period of minimum few weeks. However, if someone wishes to come for lesser time, then we consider them as visitors and share with them our work, vision and dreams. Visitors are expected to support volunteers on projects for the youth centers and/or coordinate with the guest house manager by looking after participants of our cultural exchange program.
