We didn't know what to expect showing up in Oswestry without a car but we had such a good time with the help of our fantastic hosts! They picked us up from the train station and welcomed us to their home with open arms.

We had plenty to help with in the garden and gained some valuable skills, as well as seeing beautiful scenery in an area of the world we'd never been to before. Bringing to their badminton group (twice) despite our novice ability was a highlight of the trip.

We met their extended family and their adorable puppies as well as heard some wild travel stories. You shouldn't hesitate to stay and work for such a welcoming family!

Thanks Joan and Christian!

From the moment that we arrived, we were made to feel like part of the family! Joan and Christian have been great hosts - generous and amiable. We've spent many a happy night improving our skills in scrabble and even learning to play bridge (well..the basics of it at least).

They are genuinely lovely people who have made us feel so welcome in their home, from the numerous cups of tea to taking us on trips around the local area. The valley is very picturesque, the room is light and spacious, and the food is plentiful! We've enjoyed every minute and can thoroughly recommend them to any workawayers!
