    Description

We are a registered community-based non-profit organization committed to improving the living conditions of our community members. Located in a slum area with limited infrastructure, our primary focus is on providing support, love, and care to those in need.

In our community, poverty, illiteracy, underdevelopment, ignorance, and conservatism are prevalent, leading to many children being deprived of their basic right to education. We strive to create a brighter future for these young boys and girls by teaching them about real-life skills and empowering them to break the cycle of early pregnancy and school dropout. We also work towards empowering women through various projects, enabling them to support themselves and providing a better life for the elderly.

    Our projects include:

    Helping and feeding elderly people.
    Empowering women through skills development.
Fighting drug addiction in the community.
Teaching children about basic hygiene practices.
    Educating about STDs, AIDS/HIV.
    Preventing teen pregnancies.
    Distributing sanitary towels.
    Preventing school dropout.
    Teaching computer skills.
    Teaching sewing to young mothers.
    Engaging in charitable activities.
    Assisting in local school teaching.

During weekends, volunteers have the opportunity to explore the fantastic tourism attractions in the local area. This includes visiting lakes, game parks, museums, cultural sites, entertainment spots, mountains, and even traveling to the coast to enjoy the beautiful beaches. We have experienced field officers and partner with tour companies that offer excellent and affordable tourism services. As an organization, we will assist you in planning the best trip within your budget.

By joining our organization, you not only contribute to the community's welfare but also have the chance to experience the rich cultural and natural beauty of our country.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

Volunteers will be able to create opportunities for themselves within our activities, fostering ongoing engagement for mutual benefits. They will have the chance to immerse themselves in the local Kenyan culture, learn the language, and explore the beauty of our country.

During their time with us, volunteers will experience firsthand cultural exchange with both local people and other international volunteers. They will have the opportunity to learn the local language, discover the art of preparing local food, observe traditional dressing styles, and engage with a diverse range of new people. These experiences will not only enhance their interpersonal skills but also foster an appreciation and understanding of different cultures.

During the weekends, volunteers will have free time to explore the numerous tourist attractions available. Our experienced field officers, along with affiliated tour companies offering excellent and affordable services, will provide assistance. Some popular attractions include:

    – Giraffe Centre: Interacting with and feeding giraffes.
    – David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust: Visiting the elephant orphanage.
    – Nairobi National Park: Exploring the wildlife and natural beauty near the city.
    – Karen Blixen Museum: Discovering the life and works of the famous author.
    – Kazuri Beadwork: Learning about traditional beadwork and purchasing unique crafts.
    – Bomas of Kenya: Experiencing traditional music, dance, and cultural performances.
    – Nairobi City Tour: Discovering the landmarks and history of Nairobi.
    – Mount Kenya: Embarking on a hiking adventure to Africa's second-highest peak.
    – Lake Naivasha: Enjoying the serene lake and its surrounding beauty.

These are just a few examples of the many attractions available to volunteers. Our aim is to provide a well-rounded experience that combines meaningful volunteer work with the opportunity to explore and appreciate the rich culture and natural wonders of Kenya.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

Volunteers will have the opportunity to stay with a local family in an apartment building located near our organization. We aim to providing volunteers with their private room, but if there are too many volunteers, they may need to share a room. This arrangement provides an authentic glimpse into everyday Kenyan life. The rooms are spacious, furnished with a queen-size bed and a bunk bed, and come with bedding provided. There is a clean pit toilet and a bathroom where volunteers can have a bucket shower.

Volunteers will share most facilities with the host family, allowing them to experience the genuine warmth of Kenyan hospitality. They can use the kitchen, which is equipped with a refrigerator, stove, and microwave, to prepare their own meals or join the family for shared meals. This provides an excellent opportunity for volunteers to learn about African lifestyles and traditional foods. During their stay, volunteers become part of the host family, fostering a sense of belonging and potentially forming lasting connections.

We will provide blankets, bedsheets, and clean water for showering and drinking water. However, if preferred, bottled water is available for purchase in nearby shops, which are just a 5-minute walk away.

Volunteers will have the chance to learn how to prepare local meals, discover the local languages, and immerse themselves in the local culture. Simultaneously, they can also share their own culture with the host family, fostering a beautiful exchange of customs and traditions. The host family will assist with laundry services, which will be done once per week.

To contribute towards the cost of accommodation and other related expenses, volunteers will be required to contribute $6 per day (USD). This amount will be utilized by the host family.

As your hosts, we are dedicated to ensuring our volunteers have an enriching experience in Kenya. We can assist in organizing affordable safaris and arrange tours within Nairobi. Some notable attractions include the National Museum, Nairobi National Park, Elephant Orphanage, Giraffe Centre, and Maasai Market. These opportunities will allow volunteers to explore the natural beauty and cultural richness of Kenya.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

We ensure that our organization always provides assistance to volunteers, accompanying them to and from projects and, if needed, when they visit various tourism sites in the country. Convenient transportation options such as buses, local matatus (minibus taxis), and bodabodas (local motorcycles) are available for direct transport to Nairobi city and nearby malls.

Our organization possesses extensive experience in managing volunteers from around the world, having been deeply involved in various projects. The success of these projects is attributed to the collaboration between volunteers, teamwork, and the cooperation of local residents. Through these efforts, we can maximize our limited resources to nurture, empower, and transform the lives of local children and youth, shaping them into better individuals for the future.

Cultural interaction is a fascinating aspect of our program, allowing for the integration and bridging of cultural differences. It offers a profound understanding of human lifestyles and fosters an appreciation for the diverse tapestry of our planet. As our volunteers come from across the globe, you will have the opportunity to learn about different cultures and make new friends. You will never be alone during your time with us.

We warmly welcome you to join our team and explore the beauty of Kenya! ALL ARE WELCOME! ASANTE SANA!
