Area: Manitoba**PLEASE NOTE: please check the calender first regarding availability. We will not have a place available from Feb 2014 until sometime later in the summer or fall. The guest house will be in use for a period of time this spring, summer and possibly into the fall. Feel free to email and ask us to keep you in mind for later in the fall or winter of 2014. Thanks! We farm approximately 2600 acres of land: about 1600 acres are annual crops, and the rest of the land is hay and pasture. In 2013 we grew wheat, barley, flax, soybeans and canola. The farm is located about 2 hours from Winnipeg, Manitoba and 1/2 hour from Brandon, Manitoba. The closest town is 8 miles away, so those wanting to travel will require a form of transportation (rental car). We would prefer to start with 1 or 2 weeks of volunteering at a time.

Area: British ColumbiaWe are Matthew, an architect, and Jane a retired newspaper publisher become mini-farmer. We are both getting tired and need some help to make some changes and get ready for winter. We live on a landscaped half acre with an additional leased acre for a horse and chickens and major vegetable garden. We also run a romantic, non-traditional detached B&B. A swimming pool makes for pleasant time off in the summer. It is just heated with the sun. Our eclectic house is always happiest with guests. We live in the Okanagan Valley, a 5 hour drive east of Vancouver. The valley is one of Canada's few wine growing regions, and there is a winery on each side of our property.
