Área: BurgundyI need trades at this point... so if you have proven skills in carpentry, first fix electrics, lime plastering etc. you would be most welcome. For others, I will be happy to accept you once again when that time returns. You'll be helping restore an historic (15th/17th/19th century) stone townhouse attached to castle battlements which I'm renovating to create a craft gallery and space to teach and share creative workshops, and a couple of studio apartments in the attic for holiday rentals.
Área: NiederösterreichHello! We are a small, open-minded family with 2 kids (8, 10 years) living near the mountains – about 80km south of Vienna. We have a permaculture garden, a forest with big old trees, a Tipi, an original mongolian Jurte (tent), chickens, ducks, a cat and two very special cashgora-goats coming in the very near future – once the fence and the stable is built. We´ve moved here in 2007 and have still lots of exciting plans. Our house is old and we are still renovating, every year a different project. At the moment our kitchen looks like a building site and needs finishing while we are planning the goat-stable, which should be finished this summer. At the same time we are building a big tree-house and the next project is a glass-house! For ecological reasons we try to lead a very simple life, grow our own veggies, bake a lot, eat mostly very healthy and almost vegetarian. So we do not provide meat. We try to reuse and repair as much as possible, We do not have a car, we try to use the bicycles as much as possible. There is a bus station nearby and the trainstation a few km from here. We are founders of a nature connecting institute and a wilderness school and offer courses in survival and old handicrafts for adults and children. But both of us have a job, so we are not at home all day, except at the times of school-holidays. Usually we get up early every day to get started before it gets too hot. In the evening ( from about 9 pm) we mostly need our privacy and our private space in the house. The freedom to do what inspires us is very important to us .Creativity, Sprituality, Music, Nature, Animals, Gardening are the areas in which we learn and experience. We are also much in exchance with other like-minded people, who are gathering together in our Tipi at the fire singing and talking.
Área: North-east Slovenia (Prekmurje)We are a German couple which has bought an old farm house in the north-east area of Slovenia near the Austrian border. Here in this sunny, hilly region we want to continue with our art (mainly arts and crafts/woodturning) and establish a small center for artists (authors, painters, woodworkers, etc.) who want to spent a few weeks or months abroad.

Área: SicilyOur beautiful farm is situated in a small canyon created by the continuously flowing river inside a natural reserve. There are an incredible number of wild plants and flowers, animals and migratory birds. The river is full of fish and is lined by huge trees including walnut trees. Through the wildness we have found an ancient jumping platform where possibly children and adults through the centuries have enjoyed jumping into the deep pools. The farm has been abandoned for the the last 60 years, nature took back all the buildings, which we have started restoring. Me (Sicilian) and my wife (UK) after 6 years of off grid life in yurts in England decided to move back to the warmth of Sicily to continue our lifestyle here. This was the first place we found ( or what we feel is that it called us). Last summer we decided to embark on epic journey transporting our yurts, tools and materials from England to Sicily. We arrived on the 10 August 2013. We ran a conservation organisation in the UK and we are artists, entomologists, and doers. We work hard but believe in living life well and enjoying life's simple riches. We have already created a vegetable garden here (completely chemical free), planted friut trees and are preparing to welcome chickens, geese, ducks, sheep and donkeys as well as set up craft/, educational workshops.
