    Description

    Hi there!

I absolutely loved using workaway while I traveled. It's such a great way to meet people, experience new things, visit places I might not have discovered while making my travel affordable and now that I'm home again I really enjoy hosting travelers and helping you have a wonderful experience as well.

When I need help. . .it always involves the gardens, weeding, trimming and picking up brush and indoors cleaning - scrubbing floors, washing walls, cleaning out cupboards etc. I sometimes have painting to do or little projects around the house so if you're keen to get your hands in the dirt and/or don't mind housework or are handy with a paint brush I'd really love to have you.

Port Dover is a great little town, a popular tourist destination. There are hiking trails and limited public transportation that can get you to nearby towns.

I live in a small house with my sweet lil poodle Nisha. She's s well trained, a bit shy at first, very gentle and absolutely loves a run in the woods. (We'll show you all the trails while you're here.)

During your time here I'll introduce you to friends and family and help you explore the local area. Should our goals be met, I'd love to take you to explore Niagara Falls. It's still one of my favourite spots and I always look forward to visiting,.

Norfolk County has so much to offer and my location is central to some of the best reasons to visit Ontario. I'm happy to offer you a lovely room, with your own bathroom and help you make your stay memorable in exchange for your sincere efforts.

If you'd like to stay, please message telling me when and what how you prefer to help.
Thanks, I look forward to meeting you! :-))

Our unique little town was once the largest freshwater fishing fleet in the world!! The fishing industry has declined and is no longer the most important aspect of our town but tourists are drawn to our many local artists, unique gift shops and unparalleled local cuisine.

I'm a yoga teacher, meditation teacher, Reiki Master and trained in Thai Massage. You're welcome to attend classes for free when there's space and I may be able to offer you a free Reiki session in exchange for your sincere efforts.

I was fortunate to spend time in some really wonderful workaways during my travels so I'm really looking forward to offering you a wonderful experience here in Ontario.
I guarantee you will get out of this experience what you put in. :-))

I don't make arrangements more than a month in advance.

You must be happy to work on your own, dependable to work well without supervision and willing to do what is asked.

Typically I need help in the gardens, with house cleaning, and odd jobs.

During your stay you'll have your own private room, access to the kitchen, possibly a bicycle and limited access to laundry. When I'm free, I'm happy to take you around and show you some of the wonderful sights this part of Ontario has to offer.

You'll be expected to keep your space clean and to keep the place tidy by cleaning up after yourself. My schedule isn't always conducive to regular evening meals so we can take turns cooking / cleaning up or you may have to fend for yourself from what's available in the kitchen.

Minimum stay one week - after that. . . if we get along and there's tasks to be done you're welcome to stay longer.

    Getting here:
Please make arrangements to get yourself to Hamilton Go station (Hunter street) or Brantford Via Rail station.
Both of which are accessible from Toronto via public transportation. (Google maps is reliable and helpful.)
I can pick you up at either of these places Mon-Thur between 6pm and 8pm, Fridays 6-9, Sat anytime Sundays before 7. :-))

You will have your own comfy room, food available for breakfast, lunch & supper and unlimited wifi.

FYI this is a vegetarian home. If you're a carnivore you may have to supplement your diet! :-)) (there are lots of restaurants in town and a grocery store around the corner)

My home is a comfortable bungalow with two bathrooms, lots of space, large laundry area (you'll have limited access to laundry).

Free wifi in all areas of the house.

I'm on a quiet street, walking distance to everything in town even the beach and possibly a bicycle for your use.
In your off time and when I'm free I look forward to showing you the best this part of the province has to offer!

Nice back yard - patio and fire pit (when permitted).

    What else ...

    Getting here is so easy!!
A bus from Pearson Int'l Airport will take you to Hamilton Go Station(on Hunter Street) where I'm happy to pick you up during daytime hours. (basically 8am - 8pm on weekends or 6pm-8pm through the week )
Because I work M-F it my preference is that you arrive on a weekend (Fri evening to Sunday morning) which allows us time for you to settle in and for us to become acquainted before I leave you on your own.

Port Dover is centrally located to some wonderful places to visit. If our goals are achieved during your stay, I would love to show you Niagara Falls or let you explore the wineries around Niagara on the Lake. We have wonderful local wineries and breweries as well and public transportation in the summer months to get you around.

The deeper into winter we get, the less there is to do around here but if you're a lover of the season you might still enjoy some of the walking / hiking trails in the area.

In the summer we have local transportation that will take you to all of the nearby tourist hot spots . . . Turkey Point, Port Rowan, Long Point and even wineries on the way.

    Non smokers. No drugs.
