We run a school that has three sections; nursery , Primary and secondary in Tanzania. The school has 450 students. Most of these students are orphans looked after by a charitable non- profit making organization.
This school is in the Southern highlands of Tanzania 105 km from the Great Ruaha National Park. On your way from Dar es Salaam to Iringa you will pass through Mikumi National park and see most of the big five animals just by the road. Iringa has the perfect weather condition throughout the year and that has made it the most popular tourist destination in Tanzania. From Iringa one can easily get to the famous Ngorongoro crater, Serengeti National park and the highest peak in Africa, Kilimanjaro.
We are therefore looking for volunteers with different interests mostly in teaching,Gardening, Baby sitting, Painting, Charity work or sports skills. We would also like to receive volunteers who would love to experience the field of teaching, even if they are not trained. Since the school has a dispensary we are also looking for volunteers that can help in the hospital side even if they don't have any experience we always conduct few hours induction courses to our volunteers.

This host charges a fee
Why does workaway.info allow listings of hosts who charge money?
In developing countries (Where most hosts are involved in charity work or community development) some of our hosts may ask for a small donation to help the host family or charity (often less then 5 dollars per day) Workaway will allows this listing when the donation goes directly to the family or charity and is just to cover the cost of the volunteers stay. (This this will be clearly marked on the host listing).
We will strictly not allow listings posted by agents or “middle men” or projects who we feel are looking to profit from a volunteers stay.
50 us dollar per week to cover your costs

I worked at the school this February and I really enjoyed the experience. I was teaching Mathematics and Computer Sciene. As a plus you can do a lot of extra activities like hiking, going to the National Park, etc. I was really sad to leave the kids and teachers because we had a great time which I will never forget. Katie was one of the most dedicated and hard-working volunteer that I have ever received, She was innovative and engaging the learners in every way to achieve the objectives. I would definitely love to have her back and recommend her to any other project anywhere in the world because of her confidence, reasoning and daring nature!
