Area: Negev desertWe are a Jewish family living in the small artist's village of Ezuz in the beautiful Negev desert heights. Our home is full of activity with our 9th child on the way in August and many guests from Israel and around the world passing by. I am originally South African and my husband Israeli. We both backpacked many years around the world and met during our travels when we were working as scuba diving instructors in the Sinai. Our favorite part of travelling was meeting people, so when we settled down we recycled 3 old buses into deluxe guestrooms and created a family hospitality business. Part of the help we need is to clean and prepare the guestrooms. In the near future we hope to plant an organic vineyard and make wine. Our garden has vines and fruit trees that grow on recycled water from our home and guestrooms and we have a natural pool for cooling down on hot summer days.

You must be serious and focused. You must be willing to deal with a beginner in Spanish. Overall, you must have a willingness and discipline to adhere to your duties and completing them on-time, and thoroughly, and properly. Frankly, if you're going to get lazy - and start 1/2ing it after a couple of weeks, and if you can't keep your area reasonably clean after being reminded, you'll be kindly but swiftly be asked to find volunteering opportunities elsewhere. You stay on top of your game, complete your duties properly, it'll be a great arrangement and you'll have to the remainder of the day to enjoy and spend in the city as you please! Requirements: -You complete your assignments thoroughly. -You have a great personality and love working with others. -You are responsible and understand that while you may have fun, there is work that needs to be done in a certain time frame, and it's needs to be done properly. -You agree to keeping your area clean and clean up after yourself overall. You keep the common areas clean and free of dishes, and debris. -This is a smoke-free house and a drug-free house (however you may take a smoke break in the backyard if necessary.) -You must have a natural love for different cultures and people -You may contribute language, knowledge and your favorite dish to the home. We love learning about new cultures. -If you are extremely handy with woodwork and construction that is a plus as well! We will provide your lodging in exchange for work. We do not provide food. You have use of the kitchen. We look forward to hearing from amazing people!
Area: Poitou CharentesWe are a married couple in our 60's retired to France since 2011. We live in a village property that is partly renovated but needs further work to make it properly comfortable. Also, the outbuilding in the back garden has been badly damaged by a storm two years ago - and is in need of urgent repair. Presently I am President of an International Friendship Association that I set up linking the village with a village in South Africa. I was a Civil Servant for 26 years -- working for the British Home Office -- I am a Past Mayor of the London Borough of Lambeth and a Director Emeritus of the South African Chamber of Commerce (UK) -- and a Past Patron of a children's centre in KwaZulu-Natal South Africa. My wife Yvonne was trained in London as a hairdresser and spent many years as a host parent for students of a theater school. My daughter was a volunteer at the children's centre in KwaZulu-Natal for two years and gained her Honours Degree (Psychology) at the University of KwaZulu-Natal. She is still at the University studying for her Master's Degree.
