Area: CaribeWe are a hostel & bar/club in Taganga (just outside of Santa Marta). The hostel is located right on the beach with an amazing view of the bay. Our workers consist of kitchen staff, bartenders, security, and administration where everyone is like one big family!
Area: CataloniaWe are friendly family living in Cornella, about 10 minutes from Barcelona. I am Technical engineer (now I am working), and David works as a Technician specialist, our kids: daughters (5 and 4) and son (7) go to the local school. We are very busy but we would love to improve our English (especially Mum.) We would be happy to host an English native speaker, preferably girl, over the age of 23 years old. We are bilingual but if we are together in the home we speak mainly Spanish, so we can offer help to improve your Spanish. We look forward to hearing from you.
Area: ArizonaWe are a 90 acre family-run alpaca farm in the mountains of Northern Arizona. Alpacas are easy on the environment, thrive in our sometimes-harsh high desert clime, and provide a peaceful interlude with a sweet face. We strive to minimize environmental impact while growing our herd of these incredible, intelligent animals. We are on solar power, completely off the grid, recycle everything, and must do for ourselves and our animals. We grow a large garden. We are NOT vegan, but believe in humane practices and good, healthful eating. Our Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs keep range cattle and predators away from our alpacas, barn cats and the flock of laying hens and free-range semi-feral bantam chickens and Muscovy ducks we keep for bug control. At over 5100 feet elevation, our wintertime weather is cold and sometimes wet, always windy. Workawayers are welcome all year with two private and shared rooms, camping and RVing ok. Nearby Grand Canyon, -Railroad, -Caves, Sedona, Oak Creek, Prescott, Flagstaff and the San Francisco Peaks, and abundant wildlife offer recreational opportunities. Workawayers need to arrive on a Friday and be able to work independently on the farm, two week minimum intervals suggested. We expect 30-40 hours of work for room and board. Must be open to education, able to negotiate stairs, enjoy the sun and speak English. No young children or pets please -- exception may be made for one (1) small dog that ignores cats. Requests for help may include fencing, herd health (handling the alpacas!), housekeeping, gardening, harvesting, weed control, construction, conservation and pasture management. We practice sustainable agriculture and low-impact alpaca farming. Come enjoy our alpacas and help keep Arizona beautiful!
Area:Hey guys, we are developing a sustainable living community on the most beautiful beach in Panama. We are seeking volunteers with an active interest in the outdoors / sustainable living, beaches, jungle and are committed to protecting the environment. We are currently working on sustainable sources of power (solar, wind, water) along with a fishery and farming fruits and vegetables. We are looking for volunteers who are eager for an opportunity to help with this amazing eco project. We currently have running water, western toilets, and some solar and wind power but the project is still pretty basic at this point.
Area: TuscanyWe live near Lucca, Tuscany - and have a house with 4 hectares of land. Looking for help with clearing of the woods and general work with the olive trees etc. Also looking for someone to build a couple of garden walls etc - so some basic building skills would be a great plus! We are an English couple who live and work in Tuscany all year round - we have an estate agency. Our 15 year old daughter is at home during the school holidays. Our house is 30 mins from Lucca and we have a lovely big swimming pool (120 sqm) in very pretty surroundings. We have a wide circle of friends who we socialize with a lot; love good food (Tuscan and international!) and wine. We have three cats - who live mostly outside - but are still very spoilt boys! Do send me an email if you feel you could help us out!
