  Hello! Welcome to Haiphong
  My name is Huong. I am 30 years old. I was born and raised in Cat Ba Island. As you know, English is a common language used in the world in many countries. In my country this is no exception. However, learning English with foreigners is very expensive, only rich people can learn in Vietnam. I want to establish a center for poor students who want to learn English and feel confident in a foreign country. We want to learn English and talk to you about our country and culture, whilst learning about yours too. Ours students are very interested in learning about all different cultures and languages from around the world.
  
  I am staring this business as I love teaching, I also want to make sure my students learn how to pronounce English properly which other schools do not do. However my dream is to open an English center for very poor local children who can’t afford education. I want to teach poor children for free to help them experience a comfortable and proper education in English. This is very important to me because some children cannot go to University. Also speaking basic English greatly helps people in Vietnam to get a job especially the poor children who are not given the same opportunity as wealthier families.
  
  Volunteers will have the chance to work for other schools and centers across all age groups.
  You will help plan and teach lessons with lots of help from myself and our assistant teacher who are fluent in English and Vietnamese.
  
  We will be teaching easy beginner classes and advanced speaking classes.
  No previous experience in teaching is needed because our lessons are always very fun and relaxed and we aim to create a comfortable and fun environment for our students and teachers.
  
  Very often the students will invite you out for drinks and food in the local town. We also like to cook together and have a party every fortnight or so because this is the best way to learn about each others culture. We prefer to do this because the students can practice their English in a relaxed and fun environment but also show you the best places for food/drink and for the best price!
  
  We are like a small family, you will love staying with us and we can’t wait to meet you and show you our country.

  Help

  We would like you to help 4-5 hours a day with 2 days off a week. In your days off the students may take you out as a tour guide and show you the real Vietnam, e.g.beaches/mountains/museums/bars/restaurants/monuments/national parks etc.
  We will require help with lesson planning, leading the lessons etc. Don’t worry we will help you with everything, it’s very easy and fun!
  I would like people who are funny, Polite, confident and outgoing. We are very relaxed and will make you feel like at home.
  NO PREVIOUS SKILLS/EXPERIENCE IN TEACHING IS NEEDED. We have lot of fun here and want to keep learning relaxed for our students.

  A nice house with 2 bedrooms (The bedrooms are having aircon). Double mattress and clean sheets. All rooms have fans. (FREE ACCOMODATION)

  What else ...

  If you want to travel in Cat Ba, I will be happy to invite you to my parent’s home and tell you about my hometown. I am always proud of it. You can stay with my parents who will cook traditional Vietnamese food for you and you can stay in their air conditioned rooms for free! They are lovely people and will help show you the REAL Vietnam.
  
  Also in Cat Ba and anywhere in Haiphong/Vietnam I will do my best to help find tours and excursions you can buy. Additionally my students and I can help recommend national parks and restaurants for your travels.
  
  We have lots to do here in Haiphong and there are lots of shops and facilities nearby. We have Dentists, Pharmacies, supermarkets, small shops lots of food outlets, cafe’s, bars, Karaoke bars, cinemas, banks, exchanges, tourist and transport agencies, hospitals. There is so much to see and do here and we will show you.
  
  We are very close to a big bus station which has regular buses to a lot of places.
  
  I can help arrange or advise on travel if I am free. You will meet lots of people who will be happy to help you also.
